I came here for my first time and will 100% come again! This place is low key a great hole in the wall. Not many places have Ban Cuốn which is my favorite of all time. The food and service was absolutely fantastic! The staff was so positive and even practiced a little of my Vietnamese with them. They’ll be seeing me again.

I love Song Huong (now ‘Waiting Corner’) restaurant near Camino Ruiz in Mira Mesa! This is my third time here, and I cannot get enough. It is on the end of a Asian-Pacific mini mall. This is a great area for Vietmanese, Filipino, and Chinese food, products, and exports. I came to San Diego five months ago from NJ, so my only references for food are from NYC. However, I stayed 5 full months in Singapore and Malaysia back in 2011. So much variety of food there…from durian ice cream, to sea turtle soup, to black chicken, to Indian, Halal, frog leg clay pots, and mean Mee Goreng.

Why would you have your restaurant listed as dine-in… have 9 people eating outside.. only to have been told I can not eat at the restaurant.. sounded shady!

I’ve been here a few times now, trying out different dishes. While I’ve gone on different days, different times, this is a fairly quiet place in part of the same building that houses Vinh Hung grocery store.

Not sure why this place is rated so poorly, thought it needed to be fixed! Entrees are less than $10 and for the price it’s a 5 star experience. They have many dishes most Vietnamese places I’ve been to don’t offer. Good service, it’s clean, and they play authentic music which is fun:) The name can be confusing, Google maps has it as “The Waiting Corner”, the sign says “Song Huong Restaurant”, it’s at the corner of a grocery store building (which you should also visit if you are feeling adventurous)

I go here regularly for ordering eggrolls and banh cuon dac biet (special rice noodle rolls) trays. But this one time the cooks in the back were arguing talking (yelling) about having muddy water in Vietnamese. I watched the drama unfold in front of me and saw one cook storm outside the kitchen and the other banging pots.

Best place to get banh cuon in San Diego. Too bad it’s never crowded here due to probably the odd location (behind a run-down supermarket mall). Hope they can keep their business and their awesome banh cuon.

Chicken wings fried tasted it has been left not at the right temperature thus frying it sort of masked the taste of chicken.
