The waitress we had was pretty fantastic! She notice that I didn’t eat barely any of my food and took it off the bill. The chicken fried steak was way over cooked. I was not going to complain. The hush puppies were good. The sides were lukewarm. The bbq was average. We wanted to like it, but we won’t be going back again, unfortunately.

A nice place to go for some BBQ. The atmosphere was good and the food was good. I got the Brisket Melt and it was tasty. One of the best parts was the pork rinds! They were fresh, hot, and full of flavor. They also had a slaw that had blue cheese in it. A unique flavor profile, not for those who don’t don’t like blue cheese.

Very cool bbq joint, in downtown district. Had the Nashville hot chicken and did not disappoint, nice and crispy with some nice heat along with jalapeno cornbread which I would love to have recipe for. Wife’s brisket was very tender and was a generous portion ( sliced with chopped being another serving option) and collard greens were perfect IMHO. Decor was very cool as well old church pews were in booths to give an idea. Service was very good as well, will be back for sure

First stop here of 2023 did not disappoint. This place is amazing. The food. The service. The portion sizes are surprisingly big for the price!! And I’m a big eater! I always recommend people who love BBQ to make the drive from Ohio to try this place!

First time visit for to go lunch, tried one of the daily specials, Marko Burger, WOW! Delicious, pricey for lunch but very high quality and staff exceptionally kind & friendly. Will definitely return here and highly recommend based on this visit, hope they are consistent.

Met a friend for lunch, she got two meats and two sides and I got a salad with Nashville hot chicken. The brisket was very good, greens were good (a little too sweet/sour for my taste, but good). The salad itself was good, but I don’t recommend the Nashville hot chicken, it was tasteless and almost burnt. Star of the meal was the fresh pork rinds!

The Soul Pig was well worth the wait. It was only about 30 minutes, every customer walking out all expressed this as well with a big smile. You could smell the smoky goodness coming from the kitchen, with sounds of live music and a happy crowd I could not wait to eat. I got the 3 Meat/2 side plate. The Pulled Pork was just slightly dry, but I am gonna blame that on time, if we’d gotten there early I am sure it would have been fresh outta the smoker. The Smoked Sausage.. to die for! It popped in your mouth with every bite. Then there was the Brisket… some of the best I have had, probably the best north of the Ohio River. The Mac n Cheese, was just that.. the Cornbread very flavorful. The Spicy Bourbon Sauce was a nice touch to the pulled pork. The only 2 reasons I cant give it 5 stars, the restroom is small, fits 1 and as a fat guy who loves to eat and drink… I found that an issue. The Second reason, the Craft Brew selection was limited or had ran out. When in doubt, always keep some Bells 2 Hearted as a back up or another Hoppy IPA type, it pairs well with BBQ! All in All, after I got the Bill, I was shocked at what a deal it was! Ive paid more other places for just the Brisket! And look at that Amazing Brisket! 4.75 Stars is my official rating. Will be back again!
