We came upon this location because another location that was supposed to be across the street really wasn’t. The posted message at the entrance noted to be patient with their service because food is made fresh to order. We didn’t mind the waiting time because the food came out, and it was delicious! The sweet tea was refreshing as always – especially from the south. We’re from MN, and nothing up here has ever been equal to the tea you get served from the southern states. I ordered their lizzard dish, and my wife ordered their catfish dish with greens. Yummy stuff! Super filling as well! Friendly team there, and all!

My first time visiting the restaurant. Overall everything was good. The greens needed a little more seasonings. But fish was great and let’s pause and talk about those Eggplant Fries ! OMG!! Those were soooooooo good to me! I’m a eggplant lover and if you are I recommend you try these! I will definitely support again.

Just left this place. I ordered the chicken spaghetti & was told by the young man at the door/bar it comes w/2 sides. I requested corn & fries. My husband ordered fried fish that came w/2 sides. He requested fries & corn. We received 1 basket of fries & cabbage was on our plates. We never ordered it. When we received our receipt, we were charged for 2 fish dinners & 1 side. This totaled around $34. We only had 1 fish dinner. My husband begged me not to say anything. This place HAS A MAJOR ISSUES WITH CALCULATING.

I usually don’t do this but I really had to this time. This spot claims to be a soul food restaurant well my hubby and I can make better at home. Hubby waited for about 20 to 25 minutes on the food. Ok, cool but if we’re waiting that long the food should be piping hot, full of flavor, and nothing over cooked/burned. 1.The salmon was over cooked and bland where in the world was the seasoning chef. The over cooked green beans which were mushy and the molasses sweetened sweet potatoes . The only thing that taste worth something was the corn bread on that plate. 2. The fried pickles were packed with grease and the onion rings were ok, nothing special. 3. The fish didn’t have that fresh fish taste meaning it tasted stale. I need y’all to change that grease out on the regular. The fries were over cooked and due to the old grease they were not good and the same for the hush puppies. How can you go wrong with fries. 4. The fried chicken livers fried extremely hard. Overall, very disappointed in the food. So, for that reason I will not be patronizing this business again because the food was literally garbage.

Recently discovered this place last Friday and a co-worker and I decided to give it a try. I got the Hi-Maintenance burger and it was absolute perfection. Then Saturday, I returned with my wife and a couple of friends, all of which absolutely loved the food. My coworker and I tried to go AGAIN that following Monday and realized they were closed, so we’ve already decided to go back tomorrow when they’re open. If you haven’t eaten here yet, you REALLY are missing out. It does take a bit to receive your food, but that’s because it’s made to order and it’s WELL worth the wait. Will DEFINITELY be a regular customer here and recommend them to anyone.

I love supporting black businesses. It was welcoming from entrance to exit. They immediately greeted us and seated us. A young lady brought menus, advised of specials and told prices. Prices not on the menu bc she said they had changed. The tabled were a bit stained and salt all over, so I asked for it to be re-cleaned. Starters came out within 10-15 mins. We had fried okra which I enjoyed bc it was pickled and fried. I’d never had them before and thought I’d be getting the usual cut and fried okra

My wife was telling me about this soulfood place she said moved from Flowood that she wanted to try. I told her I was on board with trying them out. So she went got the food. I had country fried steak with double mashed potatoes w/gravy. My wife had beef liver w/ grilled onions and gravy with greens & yams. We also had a order of fried gizzards too. This was a good Sunday meal on a Saturday. I was very impressed with the flavor of the food & how good it taste. It gave me that homemade feeling from eating at my mom’s house growing up.Everything was on point. This was definitely a good meal & we definitely will be back to try something different on the menu. Then plus it’s only a few minutes from my house. Please put this spot on your to-do list if you’re looking for a GOOD soulfood/home cooked meal…….

The customer service was very poor! I ordered a catfish plate with two sides of greens and mac and cheese. I received no greens and they gave me cabbage that I did not order. They explained that “greens are cabbage” but that is not what their menu stated. For the amount of time it took to get my food, my catfish tastes like it was cooked in burnt oil and my mac and cheese was not good. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
