Such a flavorful dinner! The shrimp and grits are the best I have had North of Charleston and the crab and lobster cakes were full of hunks of meat with very little filler. We will definitely be returning to try more dishes. The owners were super nice and took the time to come talk with us. Service was great. Even the sweet potatos were unique and flavorful, not typical and bland. Great unexpected place!!

I’ve been restaurant hopping with my daughter for about a month and this is the best food we’ve had!! I had the flounder which was my first time eating, and it was so good. The sides were delicious as well. I’m definitely going back!!

I wanted to love this place because I heard so much about it! Small establishment but wasn’t bad. Came on Sunday around 2pm and it was not packed but there were a good amount of people. Was seated right away at a table by the window. We did not get a waiter or anyone to our table til +20 mins later. I asked a waiter I saw was he able to take our order and he said” no he’d find our person” Another 6 mins later (by this time the restaurant had cleared out from the crowd) a older lady came and took our order. She didn’t apologize for the wait and she finally bought out water. Drinks took another 10 mins and food another 15-20. By this time I’m annoyed! I ordered the fried shrimp with collard greens and Mac. My friend had the fish and grits! My meal was OK! Shrimp were fried extra hard. My friend also expressed that her fish was hard as if it was refried. The server did not come to check on us at all after our food came out! I didn’t get any tartar sauce or hot sauce or even the opportunity to ask bc she was nowhere in sight. Luckily my friend didn’t want her hot sauce. Then when the waitress did become visible again she was coming out of the kitchen with a plate and sat at the bar and started to eat!!!! Overall this place is ok not sure if it’s better throughout the week or even earlier in the day. But please staff appropriately on the weekends. Please train your employees on customer service. You want to be taken seriously as an establishment then act accordingly especially for the price!

**KEEP YOUR MONEY*****From the top reviews we thought this place was gonna be amazing. We were so excited. The dip was good but not worth $24. The chips to it were falling apart and some soggy . The steak was bland and needed seasoning. My first drink was watery, I had to request a remake. The asparagus didn’t taste cooked just warmed. The mash potatoes was sweet like someone sprinkled a whole bunch of sugar in there. The corn muffins tasted like banana/bran. The snapper looked like it was reheated or refried. There was seasoning in the batter but not in the fish. The fish is too big not to have the flavor in it. The coco rice wasn’t good. The greens weren’t good. They tasted very similar to Glory’s can greens. I felt robbed because all the money I spent and I didn’t taste one bit of soul food . Even more crazy is there’s 20% automatic gratuity. Oh the apple slaw was refreshing and the 2nd Arnold Palmer actually was good.

So we enjoyed ourselves quite a bit at Soulivia’s. The food was tasty, the drinks were spot on (try thier Old Fashioned & try thier “Geechie drink). The atmosphere & service was amazing. We went on a Friday night & there was some live music there that got the entire restaurant in a “vibe”. Definitely make sure you get one of their “sweet Potato muffins”. You won’t regret it!!

The food, entertainment, customer service and restaurant overall was a wonderful experience. If you are looking for authentic soul food, and great live entertainment, Soulivias is one I would definitely suggest you put on the top of your list. I will definitely eat here again.
