Located inside the dairy market as a stand alone restaurant, the high end take on American/Latin meals are outstanding, especially anything cooked on the open fire grill. The bison ribs and sirloin are outstanding as are the the various side dish opens. Pricing is on the high side if you just want a quick bite but reasonable for a nice “date night” destination. Drink menu, especially the lack of many beer options was the only minor let down but did not detract from the overall excellent experience. Highly recommended.

It’s the most Instagramable restaurant in Charlottesville with an AMAZING vibe. The music is loud enough to enjoy and even dance to, but it doesn’t overpower conversation at your table. The chef’s table is a great addition and creates a unique date night experience.

We love $10 steak night at South and Central . It’s affordable, flavorful and feels wonderful to go to a treat yourself restaurant and not feel like you’re breaking the bank. We both got medium rare flank steak with a chimichurri sauce (this is so dangerously good) and a side of yucca fries. I love these meaty fries a lot more than potato! And if you love cheese like we do, you have got to get the grilled provoleta.. look at that PULL!!

Went in for restaurant week, at first I thought the food was southern style but found it is South American! Even better! The bison meat is so tender, it melts in the mouth. The provoleta had a nice presentation being lit up in flames. The walnuts in the rice pudding dessert was relishing, having a caramelized flavour to it.
