Heard about a new place in the neighborhood and thought I’d like to check it out. Said southern and NOLA cuisine. What was good to us? Phoenix was great as a server. The root beer and biscuits were great! The jellies with the biscuits. We ordered the shrimp po boy, fried chicken sandwich and jambalaya and sausage. The food was just ok. The presentation was fine. But the food was fried too hard and once you bit through the crusty part, the chicken and shrimp lacked depth and flavor. The flavor was in the crusty hard part. Nice atmosphere. Noisy though. Happy hour dude couldn’t really be heard. Acoustics aren’t the best.

We tried South for dinner last night and were overall impressed by the flavors in each dish, top-notch service and the beautifully decorated indoor/outdoor space. The Deviled Eggs, jambalaya, fish dip, and fried chicken sandwich (not to mention the awesome cocktails) were all on point. We will definitely be back for dinner and looking forward to brunch as well.

We had a fantastic dinner at South last night! Everything we got was delicious and the wait staff was great. The biscuits were out of this world and the fried chicken sandwich & sausage ball appetizers were really really good! My husband loved his bacon jam burger. Every excited to see restaurants like this opening here! Can’t wait to come back & try other dishes.

delicious. excellent service. Rico provided a great experience and recommendations. we ordered a full chicken and unfortunately the kitchen was unable to fulfill order. the kitchen manager came over and was kind enough to have our second order come out as soon as possible. floor manager touched the table and followed up to apologize. overall we enjoyed this new restaurant. day 9 of opening. will definitely return. we ordered: deviled eggs, boudin balls, buttermilk biscuits, gumbo of the day, miso salmon (chefs kiss), that jam burger, spicy chicken sandwich, PBLT – everything was delicious.

I took my friend there for her birthday yesterday. She had taken me for breakfast at the Jet Runway and it was delicious, so I wanted to return the favor by taking her here, with the same owners. She is a southern belle, so you could give her cardboard with some preserves and she would say it was delicious. What she thought might be another story. I am from NY, so I tend to say exactly what I think.
