We dined here during LI restaurant week, but have eaten here and ordered take-out in the past. The food is always excellent and my favorite is always the mushroom, spinach, caramelized onion, goat cheese flatbread. It is a small, quaint restaurant which never disappoints. Helen, our server was very professional and had a very easy-going attitude. What surprised me was that they had a restaurant week menu with two price points.

Came here for the restaurant week special with hubby and friend on a Tuesday night. Parking is actually in lot on the side street behind restaurant. Wouldn’t advise heels as it is gravel. Tight squeeze for SUVs and trucks. Restaurant was very quaint inside and really quiet which made casual conversation awkward at first until the volume picked up. 1 out of 3 of us chose the restaurant week menu due to choices but food all around was pretty delicious. Drinks were good and would definitely come back for a date night!

My brother, sister in law and niece had a reservation here for his birthday. I had called and spoke to the receptionist and said I wanted to surprise them with paying their dinner bill. I gave my cc information I also made sure to add a 25% tip for the server. When my card was never charged and I knew they had already left the restaurant, I called to see what had happened. I am assuming the server answered the phone saying “sorry hun, we forgot. We put it to the side and we forgot I don’t know what to tell you”.

Very good food. I had a great dinner here. The place is clean, servers are friendly and plenty of parking. This a a nice place to have dinner. Additionally, I’d like to mention THEY ARE A VETERAN OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESS. That goes along way in my book. Hungry? Go there!

I hear the food is pretty good. The server was so inconvenienced by our presence that we didn’t want to stick around to find out. She was very busy behind the bar scrolling on her phone. We didn’t mean to be rude by making a dinner reservation. So sorry to bother you. Instead we had a very welcoming and delicious meal at Ruta Oaxaca. They are so nice at Ruta Oaxaca. I would recommend going there instead. Really turned our night around and made us feel like valued guests. Again so sorry to have bothered you at South Ocean Grill. It definitely won’t happen again.
