South of Wrigley has great food. My wife and I ordered Philly cheesesteaks and they were awesome. They were huge, we ended up splitting one and taking one home for dinner. The fries were awesome, and I suggest getting the cheese with them. I would 11/10 recommend and will definitely be coming back. They unfortunately didn’t have a lot of seating (to me not an issue as the food is totally worth it).

The food was amazing. There was a slight confusion with what I ordered and what I received and the staff noticed immediately that I was confused. They insisted on making the chili dog I wanted, which tasted fantastic. Amazing food and service!

First time here, and we were not disappointed. I had the Italian beef dipped and my wife had the Chicago dog. Both were delicious. The fries are on point, crispy, and the right amount of salt. Great staff working hard to get everyone’s order out in a timely manner. They are only open Monday to Thursday until 3 pm and Friday and Saturday until 7 pm.

I am always looking for an authentic Chicago Hotdog. So, I went to South of Wrigley for lunch on Wednesday. Of course, I ordered the Chicago Dog and Pub Fries. I’d say they got all the dog ingredients right. It tasted like the real deal. They missed a bit on proportions but overall succeeded.

After months of nothing but great chatter, today I finally had the opportunity to check this place out, and it lived up to the hype! First of all, it was great to see a familiar face (Jesus, the Cuban sandwich king) behind the counter – that gave me instant confidence. I got the 6” Italian Beef with cheese and my husband got the Big B Italian (same thing, but larger) with peppers and onions. We both asked for our bread NOT to be dipped, opting for au jus on the side; his came as requested, mine was sadly sopping, but that’s ok – I’m told a wet sandwich is an authentic experience. The beef was absolutely DELICIOUS and extremely filling. The space is just right, open concept, with plenty of seating. Very different from anything else in Lexington and a welcome addition. The only thing is, be prepared for your receipt: Our bill was $25 (before tip) for two sandwiches, and nothing else (waters, no sides).
