My food here was as good as nearly any place I’ve been in Atlanta, from the big name fine dining places to the local faves. Everything felt detailed and attended to, a deliberate style of dining where the whole plate made sense and then that plate made sense within the context of the meal. Drinks were also fantastic and the sommelier was thorough and passionate!

My first experience dinning in and with colleagues and it was by far the best dinning experience I’ve had in Atlanta. In addition to the joyful banter amongst the group, the service was impeccable, the food was exceptional, and the pairing was just perfection (no exaggeration here). Huge shout-out to Jessica for her amazing recommendations and impeccable service. I would highly recommend 10/10

This was my girlfriend and I’s first time visiting Southern Belle. I was awestruck. I’d give 6 stars if I could. The food is clearly prepared with extreme skill and finesse, beautifully presented, with delicious unique tastes I’ve never before experienced. Often the owner/chef brought the food out to us, he (Joey) clearly is extremely passionate about his business and food, a true pro.

Came here on a whim for a solo early birthday dinner. The service was incredible, the food was delicious and the tasting menu was a perfect way to spend a Saturday night. I was impressed at how clever the dishes were and enjoyed being brought along on the journey the chef designed.

Food was rather bland. The gazpacho was pleasantly tart and went well with the feta, albeit a slightly unappealing mottled green. The chilled shrimp tasted like bland, normal shrimp, with a mild corn puree, although the savory churro was interesting. The fish was decent, although the lemon gel was a little too sweet, the mussels insipid, seaweed was definitely the best part. Lamb course was okay, again on the bland side, although the mushroom sauce was surprisingly salty. The dessert was a large lump of peanut butter that was not balanced at all and way too heavy.

I decide to get my friends to try a different spot over the weekend and to our surprise this was one secretly amazing spot. Four course test menu deliciously well prepared and great presentation, amazing ambiance and quality of service. But above all the food was just amazing. We didn’t do the wine peering with food but everything that was brought to our table was just amazing and we all enjoyed it. For sure to come back here again. I would recommend the 90-Day- Aged Ribeye. Our next try is Georgia Boy which is their sister restaurant.

Wow. Loved the food, the staff, the ambiance…everything! We did the 7-course tasting menu at Southern Belle and were very impressed. The perfect blend of fine dining cuisine with a casual enough atmosphere to feel warm and inviting.

It was average for me. I was very excited to try Southern Belle. The prices were really expensive for what it was – $24 for a single scallop appetizer is exorbitant. Wine selection was actually really good, but again, very expensive. Gruner veltliner is a good wine and niche if you’ve never been to Austria/Germany, for example, but $111 is steep for a relatively inexpensive type of wine. Same for the Tempranillo, very expensive for other comparable bottles in the city at other restaurants. The beef cheek wagyu was bland and the veggies with it mushy. A real standout was the pork belly! That was an exceptional dish. But the rest was pretty forgettable. The shrimp dish lack flavor as far as the actual shrimp. The grouper was a little bland but had a pretty presentation. The ambiance here is really lovely, and I haven’t tried Georgia boy, which does sound really intriguing. The service was also really good. It just lacked that “wow”‘factor for me. I like the concept, and I’m glad I have a chance to try it, but I’m not sure I’m in any rush to go back.

Superb, in every dimension. Exquisitely prepared plates and bowls and stones and beaters (you need a LOT of plate-ware for 13-14 servings). Playful dishes uniquely prepared…each left us wanting seconds. The staff is first-rate all around — engaging and knowledgeable. We didn’t do the wine pairing add-on ($80 – our tablemates did and were very pleased) opting instead for a unique single bottle of a CA Syrah-centric wine, chosen from a brief yet diverse list. I won’t reveal any food or atmosphere spoilers here but suffice it to say…Joey Ward and his team are gifted hosts and chefs who elicited multiple smiles, and kept our palates dancing.

This place is beyond a restaurant… I’m hesitant to say too much because I think the element of surprise is one of the best factors. Over the course of a few hours, we had around 14 tastings of some of the most incredible food for around $150 per person before tax and tip (opting for a few cocktails rather than the wine pairing) and it was worth every penny. The entire experience includes different textures, surprising flavor combos, waves of nostalgia, and molding a group of strangers into friends throughout the evening. Sharing food pics only but holding back on descriptions because the surprise is worth it
