We are a new restaurant that specializes Southern Cuisine. We offer 1 meat and choice of 2 or 3 veggies/dessert, we are kid friendly and also offer lighter options as well. We have an extensive breakfast menu that is sure to please most any customer. We hope to become a favorite to the bailey cove/ Jones valley crowd and cant wait to get to know everyone!

Just a wonderful, quaint little eatery. Around 15 tables and booths, so if you have a crowd, you’ll have to spread out. I was seated as soon as I walked in and treated like family. The menu is a basic menu of down home eats. I ordered the “Southern Egg Breakfast with Bacon with biscuit”. The food was made to order and brought out pretty quickly. My regular readers know I am a picky SOB when it comes to eggs over easy, and they absolutely nailed them. There was enough food to satisfy most diners. Everything was fantastic! The staff treat everyone like they were a either family or a reviewer (I NEVER tell folks they are being reviewed).

Southern Egg Cafe is unpretentious. It is easy to miss it from the road; it sits back in a corner at the edge of a small strip mall on Bailey Cover Road. It is small, relatively new, but it has gathered a faithful clientele and business appears to have picked up considerably since it opened and people learn about it..

It’s easy to miss this café because of it’s location in a strip mall but it is a hidden gem! The portion sizes are generous and the menu truly has something for everyone. I’m a healthy eater and they definitely had a supersized salad that was satisfying and delicious. My husband ordered the club sandwich with fries and it was photo worthy, it was so large. The restaurant is cozy and the waitstaff are friendly. Definitely recommend.

Small in size but big on service and quality of good. The server and other staff are nice down too earth people. The all check on you to make sure you are seated and served pretty fast. They got my order in and out in a timely manner. And at least 3 different people checked on me through out the meal to make sure it was good and my drink was refilled. I ordered the french toast with strawberries. It came with sausage, scrambled eggs,and hashbrown casserole. Food came out hot and fresh and nicely presented. Like each item had its own personal cook. French toast with strawberries and powdered sugar was so good. Will get that meal again. Last weekend I went too Edgar’s bakery and had the WORST breakfast ever. Glad I tried southern egg cafe. Best breakfast I had in a long time. So much better than those big expensive chain places where you just pay for the name basically. Will definitely be back. Gotta try that ribeye steak that was recommended. Great place. Great food. Great people. Give the SOUTHERN EGG a try..

Tried their lunch, my husband’s sandwich was so big he could only eat half. My meatloaf was ok, just would be better with a coating of ketchup when baked. Black eyed peas and turnip greens we wonderful, as well as the cornbread. Staff was very courteous and friendly.

Location offering breakfast and lunch closing at 2pm. Lunch menu with sandwichs, salads, and good selection of meat and 2 or 3 sides are the focus. Try the pot roast for a treat! The grilled chicken was juicy and flavorful. Booths and comfortable seating offered.

There was a 50 minute wait at Cracker Barrel and a 30 minute wait at Another Broken Egg. I found this place when looking for somewhere else to eat. There was no wait and it’s honestly one the best breakfast meals I have ever had. The menu has tons of options, the service was FAST and the employees are very friendly. This will be my go-to breakfast spot anytime I’m in Huntsville. Don’t pass this place up!
