1st timer. Omg I had to wait till 4:30 to come in but it was worth the wait. The “light the beam” roll was my favorite. It’s on the special menu. So good!

Husband and I sat at the bar and were treated to fresh, creative, and delicious sushi. Chef Shaq was very engaging and took care of everyone, making sure we were having a great time and enjoying our food.

Some of the best sushi I have had in a long time! House made ponzu sauce and the freshest ingredients. Find this place!

Have you ever heard that sometimes the best restaurants are in the sketchiest parts of town? Well so far this is the best sushi spot in Sacramento, but it’s located in the wonderful Del Paso heights neighborhood. It is pricy and can get busy on the weekends, but the sushi is worth it for a nice date night. Parking can also sometimes be a problem as spaces are limited or sometimes occupied by homeless people. They have good specials here from time to time like their pork belly ramen bowl (pictured). I love salmon and they do a good crunchy salmon roll (pictured) and will add salmon if you ask. Our sushi chef at the bar (Shaq) doesn’t just create sushi-he creates art. Overall excellent sushi spot!

2nd time here, and I wasn’t happy at all. The waiter didn’t seem to care much. We had omakase, which I regret. We had two dishes and a 35 dollar sake bottle. It cost about 200 dollars. The nigiri was massive, which defeated the ratio of the rice. Generous, but some of fish and uni weren’t fresh. I should have stuck with the sushi rolls and basis menu here.

It was my first time here. I’m so glad I found this place! Excellent food! No fishy smell. The chef was considerate of my dietary restrictions and made me an off-menu gluten-free & dairy-free roll for me! They also had Tamari Gluten-free soy sauce. There was a bit of a wait due to them being busy. All in all, a great experience! Will definitely return.

I was scared for what the rest of the meal would look like when the English cucumber appetizer I ordered came out. I had to cut it with my butter knife and it didn’t have much flavor.. I ended up being pleasantly surprised! The multiple types of nigiri we had were yummy!

Food was immaculately presented, delicious and surprisingly well priced for what was offered. The ambience was warm and a little chic. I’m super impressed and will be back again. Try the BTS! I have had a version of this dish at several Japanese style restaurants in town but this was BY FAR the best. A great addition to Uptown. I cannot wait for my next visit.

First time coming here. We loved it! Service was quick. We came at happy hour so I ordered the vegan spider roll and summer vegetables. So good!! My husband got the shrimp tempura and bacon rice. He also enjoyed both. We’ll be coming here regularly.
