Sparky’s Diner is awesome like a blast into the past. They treat you like family and the food is prepared just the way you want. They have all the classic selections of breakfast and lunch and you will not be disappointed. It’s hidden away hard to find but once you find it you will come back. This was our first time here and it’s like they have known us forever. Not too many places are like that. Update 3/25/23 they have new owners and the Mexican food is delicious. Reminds me of my time in Mexico. The tacos, burritos are definitely the best in town. It’s more popular now for good reason. Just had another great meal yesterday(4-24-23). The chicken combo plate and a wet beef burrito. Delicious and great service from Harold as usual.

We were expecting to walk into Sparkys Diner. We weren’t aware that it was taken over by a Mexican food restaurant. ♀️ They still had some of the food, but the menu was now half and half, and no fountain pop. Only jarritos or Mexican coke (not sure the difference it wasn’t explained). We were the only ones in the entire place not speaking Spanish. It was a little off-putting, as it was unexpected. Great food, great prices, clean but very slow service, and no longer just Sparkys.

I didn’t get a chance to try this place before they merged with TC Latino but I was excited to try this new version. It was alright, kind waitstaff but server gave me the wrong salsa and served a table who arrived after us first. I want to support local but maybe I will buy directly from TC Latino next time.

We decided we’re going to just go to other places for breakfast from here on. I tried the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was mushy inside and soaked in grease. Had okay flavor but really needs more egg and potato inside and less meat so it doesn’t become so greasy and mushy texture. Unable to pick it up and eat it like a burrito because it fell apart. Had to pat it dry to eat half, left the other half for the trash can. Last 2 times I got an omelette, it was covered and filled w way too much cheese (and I love cheese!) so the second time I asked for light cheese but it was still covered and filled w cheese and just greasy and floppy. We asked for crispy hash browns per usual but they keep coming out the same, slightly raw in the middle. I love to support local businesses and I hate writing bad reviews but I just want to be honest so that things can improve for the sake of the new owners success.

This is a great little diner! It has all the go to breakfast and lunch classic diner comfort food. On top of that they have killer Mexican food, amazing tacos and tortas with few places do really well and Sparky’s is spot on. Definitely a must try. Will come again especially for the Mexican entrees . Staff are friendly and the service is fast.

Randomly chose this place after a long weekend in DT TC and decided to go a little off the grid to avoid long waits for seating. All of us planned on getting just an American style breakfast but the majority of us were converted to ordering Mexican when we learned this was an authentic Mexican style restaurant (which does have your standard bacon and egg offerings as well). The food was plentiful, it tasted very good and the prices were low for the amount you got. The service was a bit slow, but there were 7 of us. Out of the 7, 5 got Mexican dishes, 2 got American and between us all there were no complaints, just full stomachs. This place is northing fancy, just a normal diner. Take a break from downtown and check it out.

We love authentic Mexican food ! Sparky’s is the place to go. Upon our return to Michigan, we will be coming here in the future. People are friendly here and we enjoyed sitting at the large family tables! Food was delicious !!

The Mexican food was delicious! We prefer to wait for trips to Texas rather than eat at Mexican restaurants near where we live, this was well worth the indulgence. Everything was beyond flavorful and decadent. Our server, Alejandro, was helpful and patient, we appreciate you!
