The gal who was 1 of the bartenders was so super drunk it was embarrassing. The crowd was just young drunken kids who looked like fools. It’s really gone down hill. Shout out to the guy bartender looking after patrons who were so drunk & passing out at the bar for giving him water, being professional and SOBER! This was on Saturday. Also the 1st time my daughter & I went there to eat after Debbie sold it. The food was awful, fries were burnt, they forgot my daughters burger. So by the time she finally got her burger mine was cold. Not trying to sound like a Karen and I hope as time goes on they will figure out all the kinks. Even then the workers were just not friendly & even My daughter said it seemed like we were a burden to them even though all we did was oder food, the gal didn’t write any of it down & forgot my daughters food. And I’m only frustrated because I know what this place used to be when Denise was the cook!

Great little hole in the wall place that I can’t believe I haven’t visited sooner! A true Topeka staple. Great food and taps. We had the chicken gizzards which were cooked to perfection. The quarter pound burgers and home fries were very good also. Washed down with a shiner Bock rounded the evening out. Highly recommend for a nice time out!

Always great food, service, and people! I feel safe coming to Specks and love that I can bring my daughter and feel comfortable in knowing I need not worry about being messed with and just have a peaceful great tasting meal. Sometimes she gets up to sing on stage on open jam night. Always cool!

Okay, so, you aren’t going here for the atmosphere. (Though I happen to enjoy it.) Total dive bar vibe. You go for the food. By god, the burgers are some of the best in Topeka. Hey, foodies – THEY MAKE their own BUNS and FRENCH FRIES and CHIPS! And they are delicious! We went once with our 6 year old and he now asks by name to go back here for the fries. (Take THAT McDonald’s!) We love to support local, the staff is wonderful and the music hits a sweet spot for us. This is probably our current absolute favorite local burger joint in Topeka.

Customer service is non-existent there if the bartender was not on her phone she was sitting with I guess regular patrons chatting didn’t check on us once. Probably would have got a bigger tip at you actually asked if we would like another drink.
