I wanted to try this place because it seems different from the other restaurants. I went in with my family, and we expected it to be good. The brisket was over done and dry. They used too much barbecue sauce to moist the meat, and the food was just too oily. The brisket also had an old smell to it. This was not a good experience.

I had the Texan baked potato, it was delicious, hubby had fried catfish and shrimp, kid had chicken fried chicken sandwich with fries, and my mother had sausage on a stick, baked potato with butter and cheese only. My potato was outstanding loved every bite, the grated cheese tasted bad, hubby was not impressed with the frozen fish. My mom loved her sausage and potato, my kid said her food was bland no seasonings. The open kitchen must make it hard for the AC to cool the inside. It was set at 63° temperature was 86° on a very hot Texas summer evening. Music was a bit loud, had difficulty hearing my family at the table. Service was outstanding, he was very friendly, and on top of clearing the table. Very wide range on the menu, Texas size portions. I will definitely come back for take out. It was my first time there, and I love to support small businesses. Over all A+ in my book

The atmosphere was nice, staff was all younger kids who were nice and friendly. They forgot my kids plate of nuggets and fries but eventually they brought it out, which is why I gave this place two stars instead of zero. My issue was with the food itself. Everything was extremely overly fried. I ordered fried catfish with sweet potato fries and Mac & cheese. My daughters fries and mine were so dark, dry, & had an overall bad taste. My catfish wasn’t any better.

Crawfish we’re good. Ordered 2 – 5lbs orders and 2 baked potatoes. We were able to eat both 5 lbs orders before the potatoes came out. Your name literally says potato (spud) it shouldn’t take that long to put ingredients on a potato. However with that being said the food was good both potatoes and crawfish. We will come back and give them another shot. Hopefully they will have more staff seeing that that seems to have been the major problem.

Good portion sizes and great taste. I called in my take out order, and it was ready quickly. I got the Voodoo Potato. The Boudin and Bomb Sauce are amazing. I will come back again to try the Lunch Specials, and they have a cute outdoor seating area.

Just went by and tried it out for the first time. Great!! loaded potatoe. I’ve read a few disgruntled reviews and understandably from their point of view. On the other hand you are just breaking in new employees and mistakes will be made. For the size of the place I love the vibe in there. The service was quick for me and the employees were very professional and respectful. THANK YOU for giving Deer Park another good place to eat or grab a quick lunch/dinner for work. I look forward to being a frequent customer.
