The place may be small but the food was powerful. It was a great little get away with some tasty BBQ.

Very helpful staff, clean business in and out, comfortable seating and atmosphere. Prices are as expected for wonderful, flavorful BBQ. My boys loved their eagle boxes (brisket sandwich on two buns, side of chips and a drink)!

Worth the stop! Great brisket sandwich. Good bark and nice mix of fatty & lean. Beans were also tasty as well as the mac and cheese. Nice and efficient service. Would definitely stop in again if in the area.

It was a cute idea to drive out to Stayton for BBQ. Service was exactly average. Meat was tender and the price for our combo was reasonable. Here’s the kicker: they skimp on the BBQ sauce that gets drizzled on the meat (and I do mean drizzled) and then they’ll nickle and dime customers for a tiny squirt of sauce that could fill a bottle cap. $0.25 cents for each extra sauce and depending on the size of the order, you’ll need at least 4 and go from there. Sauce was good, but unremarkable at best. Is it straight from the bottle? The hidden fees were tacky (extra dollar for double order of meat- not stated on the menu) and until they stop with the lame sauce coverage I wouldn’t make another trip out of my way. They weren’t terrible by any means, but when it comes to BBQ, sauce will always be the boss! Step up your game!

Excellent food and great people! I took my grandmother here for her first time having BBQ in gosh knows how long, and it was a great treat for her! Large portions, excellent tasting meat and all at a great price point! Come get yourself some Squatchys!

It’s ok. Not great BBQ, but if you have never had great BBQ you might think this is it. Very nice people own it, with a pretty heart warming origin story. But the BBQ is just not that good. The meat was decently tender, but the flavor wasn’t amazing. Sides could be a ton better as well.

UPDATE: they’ve had to close the brick and mortar, but his food truck is still out there. Be sure to track him down.

Enjoyed our first visit. Had an experienced bbq-er / smoker with me. We enjoyed 2 meat combos so that we could try sausage, pulled pork, brisket and ribs. The expert really liked the smoked-ring on the slow cooked ribs and brisket, he was impressed. I enjoyed the brisket and ribs especially. The mac and cheese was better than the slaw IMO. Will definitely go again. Like how they have meat by the pound too.

From the ashes of a food cart rise BBQ. The cart was a local favorite and mainstay for BBQ. The new restaurant serves up the same great food with, but now with indoor seating all their own. Order at the counter for dine-in or take-out. Good BBQ like this takes time, and when it’s gone it’s gone. So don’t wait too late in the day or it might be sold out. I highly recommend the Squatchos.
