Best sandwich I’ve eaten in a while. I had the Gruyère with prosciutto at the recommendation of the staff and it was delicious. Perfectly melted cheese and toasted bread. The caramelized onions were packed with flavor as well! The staff was friendly and welcoming and didn’t scoff at me asking for advice on what to order. Don’t sleep on this place.

An entire restaurant revolving around cheese? Um, yes please. Everything we had was delicious. The Mac and cheese and the turkey and cheddar sandwich were amazing but the real star was of course the charcuterie board. Just beautiful presented with delicious cheeses that the lovely cheese monger helped me select. Will definitely be back for my cheese fix.

Outside of Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Monaco, Cannes, and a few other cities in France, only in New Orleans could you find a place that could transform a ham and cheese sandwich into a gourmet experience. St. James is an extraordinary little sandwich shop and I just love its gastronomic metamorphoses. Pricey, for sure, but everything they serve their is AAA+. Don’t go there for “atmosphere” because there is none. Just go there for excellent food and condiments.

We ordered the 7 item charcuterie tray, the chocolate bark, olives & pickled veggies. When we ordered, we were asked how many meats & cheeses we wanted & if there were any cheeses we loved/hated. The plates were made custom for us & were AWESOME. The cheese selection was they also sell canned & refrigerated items & of course, cheese & cured meats. Outdoor seating in a courtyard plus some street side seating…..that part is actually weird but you can tell they were trying to make room for the demand. Go, take a friend & then go back.

The food here is amazing my favorite is the charcuterie. Pick 3, 5, or 7 meats/ cheeses and they create an awesome spread with fresh bread. The sandwiches and salads are also fantastic. I got the cheesecake this last time as a treat and it is so delicious.

I’ve been going here since I was a kid, and it’s been consistently amazing. From dining in to takeout, St. James is so reliable in service and food quality. Their Mini moo grilled cheese is by far the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. Their five cheese sampler is also delicious, jam-packed with fruits and toppings to make a perfect picnic meal.
