There is a reason the Mayo Clinic is ranked #1 in the nation. Combine world class care with Minnesota hospitality and you get the only organization that I’ve given 5 stars to.

Extremely limited hot food options to choose from (steam table, no flat-top grill, not cooked to order), so you can’t be picky or go in thinking you want a burger if it’s not “burger day.” Think chicken strips, mac n cheese, fries, green beans at lunch (that’s it), or scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, bacon, potato cubes at breakfast – basic cafeteria/buffet food. Very small room with only one person putting food on the plate or to-go box, so be patient. It’s cafeteria style, not table service, so if you have mobility or dexterity issues (in a cast, using crutches or a cane), you’ll need to have someone with you to carry your tray from the food line to the cashier, assist with payment, and clean up your table after dining. Starbucks coffee line gets very crowded, so if you want just plain regular coffee, go to the cafeteria side instead. We waited in the long Sbux line only to be told to go over to the cafeteria and get it, they only make the fancier drinks.

The food in the cafeteria was absolutely horrible!!! For the size this hospital is, they should be able to have more food choices that are more pleasing to everyone! We ended up ordering takeout through Uber eats most meals because the food was unedible!

Visited here for a follow up on my broken leg so I was in a wheelchair. I was given an escort to help me get around to my appointment and to grab a bite to eat in the cafeteria. I’m very grateful for their thoughtfulness!!

Currently under construction and has very little range as far as food that’s available to eat. They do not salt their food (probably the same food that goes up to patients, so of course there’s no salt), which isn’t a huge deal but qhen added on top of the other things about them, just gets kind of annoying. Overall, it feeds ya, so the job gets done. It’s just not super great.

For a hospital as large and well known as The Mayo Clinic, the cafeteria is very small and lacks choices that much smaller hospitals give. If you are visiting someone, I would either pack food or get something from the many nearby restaurants.

Food is cafeteria was very limited and I ate lunch the other day, then went back for supper but it was all the same, no new entree or choices.

Lower prices than I expected for the fresh foods. I recommend the Cajun Salmon wrap.

If I could do zero I would! The cafeteria was excellent a couple years ago, BUT management changed and has went down hill. The effort to walk across the street is VERY well worth the walk. They serve the same meal for 3 days in a row for both lunch and dinner.
