We went whitewater rafting and were famished, so we got a recommendation from a local to check this place out. Thankfully, we went during the Friday afternoon lull before dinner. We heard that sometimes they sell out! Service was quick and efficient and the food was very good! Not the best BBQ I’ve ever had, but it’s in the top few. We loved the tater tots and the stew! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the music as well, and spent some time exploring the town on the Tennessee and Georgia border!

The waitress did an amazing job keeping up with all of the tables there! She even knew how many potatoes were left for the Tater Hill. The BBQ was pretty good, and the drinks were unlimited. It was a great stop between our train rides.

How are you out of Brisket, Ribs and Potatoes. Probably your most requested items. Only 3 hours after opening? Was there at 2pm and they were sold out already. You still had 5 hours of open time left. 5 groups walked in and right back out once they were told all those items were not available while I sat there for 45 min. That’s money right out the door.

If you find yourself in downtown McCaysville looking for some barbecue Stateline a pretty good spot to try. We were the pulled pork plate and the Brunswick Stew and both were pretty good. The mac & cheese was a tad bland but still it wasn’t bad. My biggest complaint would be the selection of barbecue sauces, either option presented was all that great in our opinion.

There is only 1 woman who is the host, cashier, waitress, and whatever else needs to be done. The only other person there is the cook. If you are riding on the Blue Ridge scenic train, I don’t recommend eating here. We wait over an hour between ordering and getting food.
