I used to frequent State Street Grill Back when I lived in Bloomfield around 13-16 years ago and it was one of my favorite places to eat. The food is fantastic, the service is great & the atmosphere is very pleasant. I decided to take my boyfriend there while taking a ride to Bloomfield to show him where I used to live, and he loved the place.

We were in town for a few days and this is where we ate for breakfast. The waffle sundae was the best. It come with neopolitan ice cream but I asked for all vanilla. The sausage was good too. They seem to be always busy but they get you in and out fast.

Hated it!!! Management the worst. Food awful, late, cold, and unappealing. When issues brought up they are defended instead of correct. Party of 15 gratuity included and poor service. Beans straight out the can no flavor at all. Apple boiled to a pulp. Shrimp freezer burned. Pizza overcooked with minimal cheese and sauce just bread. Etc I could go but why. I will never go back. Racist manager asked us not to return because we were not satisfied. We spent over $365 and no one ate the food. Stay clear. Exterior looks fine but don’t be deluded. Absolute worst.

My review isn’t based on the meal, it’s the actual service. The food wasn’t bad but the service I received from our waiter James was excellent. I came in with my son who is on the Autism Spectrum. My son started to have a hard time and James was so polite and accommodating to us. He even offered to keep a close eye on him since they weren’t busy and make sure he was okay so that I may enjoy my meal. My niece was with us leaving for college so we couldn’t finish our meal, but he made sure we were okay. I have been to many places where the waiters get upset when my son is having a rough time but James was awesome. This is an employee rhat deserves recognition and obviously has a great heart. Thank you James for your wonderful service.

Our group of Diva’s from Class 67, had a great lunch at the State Street Grill. Our waiter James was wonderful and had a great personality . I had for my first time a Jack Daniel Hamburger and it was so tasty, and it was cooked to perfection and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely return real soon.

The food in this diner isn’t salty nor greasy, which is why like dining here. Proportions are enough. You’re not leaving here hungry. They don’t stir fry their home fries (my favorite) in butter or grease. They do toast them to perfection.

Umm…I just have no words . This place was really bad. I ordered Mozzarella sticks & a ribeye steak. If I knew the steak would taste like that I would have NEVER got it. It ended up being spoiled. The steak was SO bad. I have never had a bad steak so I literally had to research what a bad steak tastes like & as soon as it said it has a sour taste I knew it was a bad steak. That was terrifying. The mozzarella sticks also had a frozen taste. Our waiter was so polite & also had the manager rectify but that place scarred me from wanting to eat a steak ever again.

I have been coming to State Street Grill for over a decade and today was a five star day! Carlos our waiter was amazing and the manager Simone checked on our table which has never happened to me. Food was amazing and Carlos suggested substitutions to maximize individual orders. Excellent!
