Steak and Shake’s vary quite a bit in terms of consistency of service and freshness of your order. This particular location stands out as having consistently good service and service hot off the griddle burgers and fry’s right out of the fryer. Steak and Shake fries are not nearly as good once they cool down a bit and this location on 3 separate occasions has served hot fries thru the drive thru. My experience with the service has been consistently friendly and good.

Don’t order DoorDash from this location. It’s like they tried to mess up every single thing in my order. Really a disservice. Cookie dough shake with Zero cookie dough and a small bit of chocolate chips. Also no drink?? Kid was having a rough night and wanted his favorite shake, only to be completely let down. At 9:30p, from home (20 minutes away) I placed an online order for10:45pm pick up. I ordered a 4-4-4 meal with onion rings and a Reese’s shake. I arrive about 10 minutes early and waited. The order was ready at 10:52p and I got no shake. The young lady passing out orders had no idea when the shake would be ready, she just said, “it depends on where you are in line”. At 11:03pm, I asked another lady that seemed to be some kind of lead. She said, “it should be in the freezer because we go ahead and make them for online orders”. She handed me the shake and walked away.

I can’t believe I am doing this to one of my favorite spots to eat but Steak n Shake on Cobb Parkway in Smyrna is shockingly shameless for the way they treat customers. I have written reviews before based on bad/rude service, in fact, it is rare that I only report the good. However, the MANAGER at this location was more rude than any other person in any industry that I have come across. She should not be working with customers.

Late night run! Ordered in app, arrived at time that it was supposed to be ready only to wait almost a half hour. Went inside and stood at counter for about 5 minutes and nobody even seemed to care. It was only 3 people working in the kitchen and one runner so I understood why. I wasn’t that upset after that. Got my food and shakes and was on my way. Food is always good.

I love steak n. Shake but this was a horrible experience. What happened to the waitresses for one. Second my friend bit her burger and there was a hair in it. They refunded her while meal and then asked me why i didn’t eat mine. I had to explain that I lost my appetite after i saw her pull that hair out her mouth. I never asked them to refund my food. I voluntarily stopped eating. But they felt the need to explain why they couldn’t refund me. Because my food didn’t have a hair in it. And i responded that’s fine i wasn’t going to keep eating it just to find out. Not going back to this one ever.

One of the better fast food burgers I have tried. Made to order, and served fresh and hot. Meat tasted fresh and higher quality than most chain burger places, especially at this price point. However, the chili was a disappointment. Watery, bland, and runny are not words I like to use describing chili, so I am just going to leave it at that. Food prep and cleanliness on this late night visit were both on the slow/poor end, but it was late enough that I have difficulty really knocking them for it. If I am hungry for a good burger made the way I want it, this restaurant will be a solid option.

They literally trying to take someone out with all the butter they put on this burger. It was so much I had to scoop some off and the young girl at the cash register act like she couldn’t hand the order to the customer. If you don’t want to reach and receive the cash/card then maybe working at drive-thru isn’t for you. Have a good day and y’all stay blessed!
