The gentleman taking our order was very nice and helpful. It turned bad from there, I ordered a steak sandwich no cheese and a milkshake. The Patty was half off the bun, one little slice of onion ring a barely there pickle and a very small drop of sauce and I mean a very small amount of sauce. The vanilla milkshake I ordered was half full with a little bit of whip cream and no Cherry. If he would have asked I would have said no to the cherry. The photos on your menu look nothing like the food served or what is advertised. Choose anything off your competitors value menus and it will be “hands down” and “far and away” better than what you served me as prime menu items. My wife had a cheese burger with fries and a chocolate milkshake and hers was not much better. If it had been crowded I could see some lower quality but we were the only people in the restaurant!!!!!

This was our second time eating here, first time was about three weeks into the opening. At our first experience here our hamburger buns could not be eaten because they were hard and gummy. This second time was better. Great improvement from last time but a few things could have been better and should have been. I was disappointed that I didn’t see any American Flag or even a sticker of one. As a Veteran, that is important to me. If there was one and I just didn’t see it, forgive me for my critique of it. It’s just something I look for at restaurants so I’ll know I’m giving $$$ to a company that’s not afraid to show their patriotism to and for the USA!

I pulled up to the drive-thru at 9:15pm. and waited for almost 5 minutes before finally pulling to the window. The reason I was there was because I had ZERO dollars (due to an unforseen medical bill) but a $50 gift card. (My wife and I really enjoy Steak ‘n Shake but rarely dine at ours here in Hattiesburg due to our home location.) Anyway, the girl who came to the window told me they were out of beef while there was also a sign posted on the drive thru menu stating “no milkshakes.” I asked if they had any chicken or anything else for that matter as I explained the only way me and my wife were eating was with my gift card to their restaurant. I was told a truck would be there tomorrow and that I could come back then and use it. I find it very hard to believe that there was nothing to be made in the entire restaurant. I felt humiliated and helpless, being I could not provide any food for the two of us that evening. I sent an email explaining this entire situation and will share the outcome and update this review whenever I receive an answer/acknowledgment.

They straight up just served me cafeteria food and charged me full price. I guess they ran out of ingredients and subbed in some other ones. The burger tasted like the ones we used to get at public school and the fries were big fat soggy ones like at Burger King. I get supply chain problems happen but it’s completely unacceptable to both not tell me I was not getting what I ordered and to charge me full price for it. I was excited to get a Steak and Shake when this place opened but like every chain in Hattiesburg it immediately turned to garbage. Don’t waste your time or money.

Got the grilled cheese and fries for the niece and she of course enjoyed it. I prefer the grill cheese from Five Guys more because it has more of a buttery and cheesy taste to it. The Mac and cheese was decent for a fast food burger and fries place.

Atmosphere was awesome. Keeping with the holiday spirit. Sorry no pictures of the food because had eaten it to fast. They really care about your experience which is very humbling. And even on my way out. They ask if the food was good. As if they didn’t already know!!! Love this place. A lil away from the interstate but well worth the few miles.

I waited for 12 minutes and still didn’t get my order taken and it was past lunch time. They are under staffed, so if you’re real hungry or in a hurry you might want to go elsewhere!
