For the last 4 years or so, Steak & Shake has struck me as a business chain of increasingly declining quality, and this particular location only serves to prove my point with flying colors. I generally try to give food service workers the benefit of the doubt, especially during the so-called lunch rush, but there were only a few cars in the parking lot when I arrived at a quarter after noon, and I sat at the order speaker for over 5 minutes in silence after announcing myself until someone took my order, and then sat at the drive-thru window for an additional 20 minutes until my order was complete and handed to me.

This review is based on the post-pandemic new style Steak n Shake. This place had been slipping the last few years, but we gave it another try the other night and it was 5 stars for burgers. The food was hot, fresh and quick by Steak n Shake standards. I hope they keep it up. Yeah, the old diner charm is gone, but hey irs 2023 and Steak n Shake can still bring it.

Best Steak N Shake I’ve been to–i typically get the Chili 5 Way and have to beg for Oyster crackers!?!? Not here. Exemplary customer service! Manager helped me cuz the kiosk wouldn’t take my gift card for payment. They made it right and hooked me up and it was a GREAT experience! Def going back ASAP!!!!!!

Food is always good. Service has always been mostly bad. The most annoying thing is when you go up to pay and employees just walk or stand around looking at you but never say anything. Or, when you walk in and employees just walk or stand around looking at you and wait about 5 minutes to maybe acknowledge you. They’ll just look directly at you for about 6 seconds as they walk by. Super cool.
