Great place to grab a world famous eat and treat… all while topping off on gas to keep headed in either direction on the i40! This was very convenient and a better place to stop then some of the other surroundings options. These are few and far between and in the heartland of America! Stop and eat there you won’t regret it

I don’t hate Steak and Shake. Just wanted to say don’t order the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough milkshake. The one I got today, someone goofed and baked the cookie dough before making the shake. I hope that was a joke but seriously, there were some chips but no cookie dough. Instead it was gritty, almost sandy like overbake cookies. My bad is I did not take it back in and refuse it. It was also difficult to drink because the straws were to narrow. I don’t know if they were out of milkshake straws or if they don’t carry them. I went from being excited that I was in the area during 1/2 price milkshake time (2-4 weekdays) to being disgusted that I broke my diet then it wasn’t worth it.

I’ve eaten here three times. The first couple times were just okay–greasy brown-gray burger just done enough to serve blah blah blah. Today, however, was different. The patties had a little bit of char to it and with the quality of meat the burger was great. Like comparable to early-mid nineties Sonic great. I only regret having ketchup on it instead of mayo.

It’s hard not to stuff yourself on the burgers, fries, and great shakes. Guess you gotta throw healthy aside once in a while! Love the thin, crispy, hot french fries. Good service, but I’m a clean freak and the area could have been better kept. And for the record, I’m not am employee and don’t know any of them.

Connected to a Shell fuel station, you will not receive the typical table service from Steak ‘n Shake and the availability of the typical full menu was missing. The service was below average and the employees appear unhappy to serve customers of their employer. The food was hot and freshly prepared. Cleanliness was average to below average. The guest tables and floor were not clean, for example. We decided to take out vs eat in due to this reason and the risks. Perhaps this is a good strategy for employees who would rather not clean up.

This is the strangest Steak ‘n Shake I’ve ever been to. I’ve never had a bad experience with this restaurant chain until I stopped here. The restaurant is in a gas station and is very run down. The employees while they were not rude, were not friendly or helpful with the menu. I had to return to the counter several times to ask for a straw, then ketchup, then napkins because these items were either unstocked or in the case of the napkins there just weren’t any available. The food was underwhelming and not of the quality you would expect from this company. Try a different location!

We stopped in on 9-1-19 at around 5:23 pm to get four of their namesake shakes. The girl at the counter told us they were out of shakes and french fries. Kind of hard to fathom that they could be out of at least two of their staple business items. We went to the next exit and Wendy’s was very accommodating and they had no problem providing frosties. Based on other negative review on this particular steak n shake location, I would suggest they need some upper management intervention.

Decided to try the shakes here since we came across this steak and shake on our road trip – we’ve never seen a steak and shake before and we weren’t missing anything. We threw the shakes out. It wasnt very clean inside and I kept thinking we may get food poisoning or who knows what.

The pictures of the burgers in the menu does not look like the food they bring you, still good taste. Fries are good, unique in that these fries are way different than McD’s, and Burger King. The fries are skinny and well cooked, not burned, considering how skinny they are. My one complaint is the difference between what is advertised and what comes on your plate.
