Took forever to get the food even though they weren’t busy, I ordered a breakfast sandwich and right next to them on the menu it says served with hash browns. They call our name finally and there is just my son’s fries and my sandwich, no hash browns, I went up and asked and they said oh we didn’t know you wanted hashbrowns.

I was really disappointed… I hadn’t been to a Steak ‘n Shake in years. I was really hoping for a better experience. This isn’t an actual Steak ‘n Shake. It is part of a gas station/convenience store. It only has counter service. The place needed a good sweep. We wiped down our own table. On top of all of that, my sandwich was terrible. It was very dry, and lacked the proper amount of sauce. At least the staff was friendly.

I grew up around Steak ‘n Shake and have a pretty good grasp of what it should and shouldn’t taste like. This particular Steak ‘n Shake was decent enough to get my Frisco melt fix, but wasn’t worth the drive for me. I guess it beats going to Vegas (the next closest). That being said, for being the first in Utah, they are okay. The Frisco melt was decent and the fries were spot on. I was disappointed to find that you have to buy the fry seasoning shaker (traditionally, there is one sitting on the table along with ketchup, etc at the mainline restaurants). The shake I had was okay. The strawberry was way too artificial tasting and didn’t taste the same as others. The facility was decently clean and located in a gas station, which was pretty well-kept. Know that the menu is indeed limited and does not have all options (sadly, no side by side or banana milkshakes). The service was quick and okay, but the cashier (an older gentleman) seemed rather grumpy at the fact that we ordered something. We ate in the late afternoon. Overall, not bad if you’re nearby and really want it.

My first time at a Steak ‘n Shake. I enjoyed the burger, lots of fix’ns and a good size. The fries were perfect. The wait was terrible, but I was told there was only one guy on the grill and one taking orders. There was a hiring sign. This will no doubt improve.

I grew up in a town with a steak n shake right around the corner. I remember the 1950s diner feel and the friendly wait staff. This lacks the normal charm a steak n shake should have. The food tastes just as good but the proportions are decently smaller. After driving down from Ogden this was a nice treat but I am really hoping if they are looking to expand this franchise they really should model their stores after the ones in the east/south. There’s a reason people love those locations. Additionally they don’t offer the steak and shake seasoning on the tables, you have to buy it from them first.

We ordered two 3.00 breakfast bowls, hoping it would be quick. We ended up waiting over 25 min. The staff seems to not care and it has an old Town feel to it. What I mean is the cashier will sit and talk about anti freeze when there’s several people waiting to pay. The food was pretty tasty for the price but the service was despicable.

Super limited menu. Employees were playing around and talking in groups with non customer visitors. Not very attentive. Nasty place. The entire restaurant was filthy, not a single table was clean and all of them had food and debris from prior customers. The floor had French fries and food spills in several places. No condiments were available as they were all empty as well as the containers for condiments. Our burgers were consumed before they ever gave us our shakes, since the girl making shakes had to cover the register for the guys talking. Even the service counters were smudged with food. All in all a very unpleasant dining experience. Had none of the charm, quality nor character of a full fledged Steak and Shake. Highly discourage anyone going here.

Utah’s first Steak n Shake is a walk-up order counter in a gas station with the most limited Steak n Shake menu I’ve ever seen. They have three sandwiches (the single and double steakburgers and the Frisco Melt), fries, a hot dog, and a limited selection of shakes. No chili. (They do sell grocery store cans of chili, but that’s not the same.)

I drove to Steak and Shake very excited and was immediately disappointed. There was fry sauce all over the floor and every single table was dirty. I was one of two costumers there and there was 7 red shirts in the kitchen and 1 manger. They were all goofing around and couldn’t be bothered by the mess they were working in. I ordered a double steak cheese burger with no onion and no cheese; I got cheese on my burger. It tasted fine.
