The sushi is fresh and delicious. I’ve never had a bad experience with the staff. The prices are little high but they are worth it. Portion sizes are pretty good, but if you like to eat a big meal for two people I would get three different sushi rolls.

I go for the fried Gyoza and sushi! Under new management. Menu now includes steaks. Service was good. They had a pound cake dessert that was nicely toasted, adding good texture and bringing out the vanilla flavor. I’ll definitely be returning. Food looked so good I ate half of it before I remembered to shoot a photo.

This food establishment needs a good redo. The experience isn’t a good one. The server is great but need to be more polished. The silverware was rusted and stained. The competition up the street gives you a better experience for the price. The place is very overpriced for the service. Please go and experience it for your self. From the outside signage to the two doors, look very scary. The place was a ghost town. I hope I visited at a bad time. Please go and experience this place. Spaghetti service at the same location as the best Sushi in Town. Come on guys.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in the Golden Triangle Area! I love Samurai (formerly Little Tokyo) and its staff and delicious food. The lady server knows all of my preferences without me even having to tell her. They are extremely nice and the atmosphere is cozy and personal. The food is very affordable and a person can get a great amount of food for less than $20. Some of my top preferred meals are the Lunch Bento Box and the Lo Meins. I highly recommend!

I never complain, however.. We are the only ones in the restaurant and after waiting 20 minutes for a simple sushi order, it comes out totally jacked up. I point out the mistake and she argues with me about what I said to her. After going to fix the sushi order, she says the sushi chef has left to go to the gas station and will be back in 10 minutes. The server then had to argue with the sushi chef about re-making the order, which we could hear. The sushi chef finally started re-making the order in the back, which obviously made me a bit nervous. Frustrated, we paid for our drinks and left.

Very good food, good lunch specials, fair pricing, friendly service. Frequently LONG wait time for food. Atmosphere is pleasant, but depending on what time of day you visit, there may be employees’ kids running around. Overall, though, it’s a pleasant experience if you aren’t in a hurry.

Used to eat here when it was Little Tokyo a few years back. Had a pretty terrible experience this evening, food-wise. The onion soup tasted like feet, the chicken lo mein had weirdly shriveled noodles and the food overall had a gross feeling of having sat for a while. I’m feeling a bit sick as I write this, actually.

Decent food and price but sometimes service can be a bit sluggish due to limited amount of servers. Steak cook needs mite experience to get consistency with getting the cook levels down on steaks. Often is a under the requested level…i.e. med-well might come out med-rare… They are very responsive to errors though and will get it right for you.

It is now called Samurai. So much better than Umis, and cheaper! Their bulgogi and sushi is better than Umis too, and They carry a better selection of Sake than Umi does. The atmosphere is less noisy, and you never have to wait for a table! The waitress has always been sweet and attentive! Our favorite sushi place!
