This local gem is worth the stop!!! Memphis doesn’t have anything on this smoke show. The brisket was delicious and the pulled pork was amazing. One of the best burgers we have ever had too. Not sure where he gets his bread but it was like homemade heaven. Being a family from the south we didn’t expect to find this kind of BBQ all the way up in NY…wow were we surprised. They were also so kind and welcoming it was the cherry on top. I recommend anyone who can stop to try them out!! (Highly recommend the spicy red sauce but the spicy white was perfect for the chicken that was so juicy and flavorful too)

The food was super good and the folks were very the barbecue is way better than my usual spots around the country when I got home we ate dinner and left some out on the table after letting the dogs try some they jumped up on the table and did acrobatic moves to get the leftovers!!

We were passing through Whitney Point on our way back home to WNY from a NYC road-trip, got some gas down the road and could smell that Central Texas smoked Bar-B-que aroma in the air. I wasn’t planning on eating yet but we headed down to Steve’s anyway and I just gave it the two meat test. I got brisket and ribs and both were on point. Dang I can’t wait to go back with more time!

Half my life was spent as a chef. The other half has been spent enjoying the best restaurants the US and Europe has to offer. I would drive 4 hours just to eat the food this place puts out. And I have. And I do. And I will. Not your average BBQ spot. Real thought put into flavourful combinations, proprietary recipes and the sides are ALL flawless. A diamond durrounded by chains. Avoid them all and come here!

Stopped by Steve’s Backyard BBQ while passing by on 81 N. I had ordered the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and potato salad. The food was delicious! Decided to stop by while returning from my trip and had picked up a 1/2 of ribs and 1/2 smoked chicken with two large orders of mac and cheese and potato salad. They had even treated my dog to a good side portion of smoked turkey and brisket pieces on the house! We will be stopping by whenever in the area, and I suggest that you do the same.
