Didn’t know what to expect when we pulled up here. I give it 4 stars for atmosphere but really don’t know how to rate a stock yard…. Anyway the cafe is plain, yet outstanding in a way… Onion rings outstanding with homemade ranch dressing. I am not certain but I do believe the butter served with the dinner rolls is homemade too. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t. Chicken Fried steaks are 3/4″ thick yet still cut with just a fork. The breading stay with the meat on each bite too. Lemon Marang pie. Is good, the German chocolate cake is good as well. Very interesting place.

This was my second visit. Chicken fried steak was delicious last time. This time I had their cheeseburger. The patty was clearly home made and larger than the bun. Real family friendly atmosphere. Would recommend.

We drove almost 2 hours to eat here, and we’re not disappointed! The quality of the food is EXCELLENT, along with the service. One thing I feel needs to be mentioned is the size of the chicken fried steak if you order it. I ordered the Ranch Hand and was a bit disappointed in the size. It was literally gone in about 4 bites. It was very small for the price point ($10.49 with 2 sides), but the quality was stellar. When you order chicken fried steak you expect a larger cut of meat, but my wife’s steak fingers were larger and had more meat. That’s the only con. Sides were excellent (mashed potatoes are real). We will definitely be back despite the smaller portion size. They do have a seniors and veterans discount, as well as daily specials.

Honestly, not great.. burnt chicken fried steak, cold and old green beans, good mashed potatoes and gravy. 15 dollar Philly cheesesteak that isn’t really much different than the old Arby’s one, and freezer fries. Way too much for not enough quantity or quality. Service was bare minimum, not sub par but nothing to brag about either.

My husband and I eat here often. Amazing food and service. The Philly steak and cheese sandwich is so delicious. The fish plate is over and beyond great. There are only two places I will eat friend fish from and stockmans does an amazing job. Thank you to all the staff and owners for serving my area with great food and customer service

ordered the dinner portion chicken fried steak… it was the size of my palm. ha. I was starving when I left. It’s a little diner. Do not expect any atmosphere. Service is ok, but I’ve never had an exceptional plate of food there.
