Was there for the Cajun food during Mardi Gras week. The place was packed at 1 pm. The food was awesome and the people were great. I really enjoyed the alligator bites and the honey mustard sauce they came with. The gumbo was also delicious. They also have a wide variety of beads for sale.

Great local place! Excellent Mardi Gras season menu! The entrees are delish, but you have to get the boudin balls “appetizer” and MUST save room for the white chocolate bread pudding! Surprisingly, I preferred the jambalaya over the gumbo, but order both and share! They are both delish! The gumbo has generous amounts of shrimp, sausage and chicken and the jambalaya has chicken and sausage in every bite. Good thing the menu is available for several days to try it all! All home made…you can see right into the kitchen and the aroma treats you to a virtual trip to New Orleans! “Laissez les bon temps rouler!”

Probably a really good bar but not a great place to eat. The service was slow and the food was very basic and bland.

The Stockwell Inn, to me is a piece of Evansville History, and if not, it should be. The location by the Railroad Crossing makes me think of a train stop like the early 1900’s. Great food and service. I would like to see a few improvements on the building, and if it is a historical monument, there should be grants available to renovate. The owner and i had even talked about painting a mural on the outside wall, to be seen from the tracks and going north. I would still love to be a part of that. Ginger, contact me if and when you might want to do that. I would also love to help the Village next door with their store front as well. Love coming to the Inn for a friendly atmosphere, great food and sports on the many screens visible to the customers.

Loved it. The thin crust pizza was cooked to perfection. The waitress/bartender made great drinks and was super polite.

I had a brain sandwich without the bun. I used lettuce instead of a bread. I’m on a low carbohydrate diet. The sandwich was delicious and the fresh cut onions were absolutely divine.

One of Evansville hiding treasures. Full of locals and a place where you can really appreciate the area. I forgot to mention the fishbowl of beer

Website says closes at 12 am on Saturdays. Pulled in at 10:10pm and the open sign was still on. Employee saw us pull in and came and locked the doors and turned the sign off. Now if you don’t stay open until midnight, then the website hours need to change
