While it’s a tad on the high side for pricing, there is no place else I can think of where you can get a perfectly cooked & seasoned piece of steak that may have been on the auction block down the hall the day before (* Do not know if this is actually the case). The staff is a great example of southern hospitality and they tea is sweet. Might be a lengthy wait for lunch on auction days but it’s worth it.

The name is fitting for this interesting place. It is literally a stockyards / auction entrance, with your first option to be food. I assume this is to make it convenient for the farmers and buyers to get a quick bite while taking care of business at the same time. You can literally eat your meal and walk 30-50ft farther to buy or sell your cattle.

This place hasn’t changed in 50 years. Back then my grandma worked there. The food is the best I have ever had. I had a ribeye today that just melted in my mouth. Absolutely legendary. Prices are fantastic also.
