Service is THE WORST! you’re going to get better service at a nasty Burger King than at this restaurant. . There’s HUGE Turn over of staff. And they treat you terribly

Subway is a great fast food option for those looking for a quick, yet healthy meal. Their sandwiches are made to order and customers have the ability to customize their sandwich with a variety of fresh vegetables and toppings. The sandwich bread is always fresh and the meats are high quality. The staff is friendly and efficient. The prices are also very reasonable. Overall, Subway is a great option for a quick and satisfying meal.

The entire crew (I guess they’re a family or something?) is just incredibly disrespectful and constantly laughs and makes fun of customers, in front of said customers. Why is this becoming so commonplace in Austin? What is the issue? I’ve worked at numerous fast food and general food service restaurants around town, including but not limited to three Sonics, and I NEVER talked to customers that way or blatantly made fun of them in front of their faces, even if the customers were rude first. However, both my friend and I had very simple sandwich orders, didn’t ask for any extra or crazy customization. Not complicated, knew what we wanted, and were both very polite and respectful to all the employees even after four of them disrespected us. When I finally reacted, I simply talked about them and criticized them while they were in the room, because that’s what they did to us, and to other customers, the entire time. Having a bad day is no excuse to treat people like that. I still sympathize if they’re in a bad mood but they treated about five customers that way. They even made fun of a homeless guy, who was also a simple and non-problematic, polite customer. I get that some people hate the homeless and it’s understandable to dislike the crime, litter, etc., caused by many of the Austin homeless (let me stop before I go onto a separate issue), but homeless people are human beings and this particular gentleman caused zero issues and, just like my friend and I, was also very polite even after being disrespected repeatedly by employees. He too finally said something at the end. He said “Alright y’all have a good day as well!” in a sarcastic tone as they hung out in the back talking mess. May not have been a nice thing to say but I feel that all five of the customers who were disrespected by staff felt the same frustrations and this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Two stars instead of one because the food is delicious, and I watched them prepare it and did not see them do anything sketchy to either of the sandwiches. The food itself is five stars. Management and staff are honestly lower than one star, but the food is delicious so I’ll just rate two stars taking that into consideration.

I went in to get a pizza and Asked for extra cheese. The first picture is what I got. I did not watch them make it bc it was an empty store. The pizza had hardly any cheese and was cold and doughy in the middle. I didn’t see it until I got to work so I went back afterwards showed them the pizza and they made a new one for me. The second one is what I got. Not much better.

If you’re closer to this location than the Slaughter Manchaca, go here. The service and cleanliness is night and day.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Online orders are ALWAYS late. Placed an order on 3/20 for pickup, my boyfriend gets there and they run out of bread…. Subway running out of ALL bread??? I call for a refund and some young girl answers “Hello.” (No, thank you for calling Subway.. Nothing. Just answering the phone like she’s about to talk to a friend.) THEN I get HANG UP ON. I call back immediately and they keep hanging up the phone. I FINALLY got ahold of young kid who is completely clueless and says he can’t do anything. I said, “I understand you may not be able to, so is there a manager I can speak to?” He replies “Oh, well he isn’t here. His name is Joel and he hasn’t been coming in.” GREAT!!! I told him, “So, how exactly am I supposed to go about getting a refund then?” He told me to go through the app, however, on the app it tells you to contact the store. He again replies, “Sorry, I can’t do anything.” Not only that mess, but on the app they put that the order status is READY. They should close the location down for orders or call people that are placing order to give them a heads up. Not waiting until they show up in person. Absolutely ridiculous!!

I typically never complain about service workers because I understand the job is difficult and you can have to deal with rude customers. HOWEVER, The workers that typically are here at night are either very unprofessional, really high or both. I don’t usually complain about stuff like that, but it was truly awful. Had to ask me MULTIPLE times what I wanted on my sandwich after I would say it. One of the workers in particular was really distracting and clearly didn’t have the appropriate training on working with customers / basic sandwich making skills. Claimed he was “getting better at wrapping sandwiches” but didn’t even try and just sloppily wrapped it up without even cutting it or trying to fix it. You shouldn’t cut up to the point of distracting your coworkers while trying to work with customers. Would love to know who manages this subway so I can speak with them about who they have working here because it’s highly questionable.
