Fantastic local ice cream shop with lots of vintage charm. Dozens of AMAZING flavors and 6+ types of cones including red velvet and matcha. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. I got the waffle nachos, two scoops of ice cream, your choice of toppings all over a pile of waffle chips. Definitely a repeat visit location.

Great ice cream. Downtown location is awesome but only open during the summer. The other location used to be in “The Landing” and it was a perfect fit. You could order their food or something from one of the other vendors and top it off with ice cream. It was a perfect place to take my grandchildren. Now, however, they have moved to a less convenient location. So for me, my ice cream fix will have to wait until summer.

Really good ice cream. I had almond coconut and my wife had the Fat Elvis. Both were delicious, and you could tell made with proper ingredients. The staff was also really nice.

Have been coming to Decorah for years and never went to the Sugar Bowl. A few years back we saw it was under new manaand decided to try….and am very glad we did. There are two ice cream places in Decorah…Sugar Bowl and Whippy Dip. Sugar Bowl serves hard pack ice cream, and Whippy Dip does soft serve. The experience at Sugar Bowl is always great….friendly staff who are genuinely happy to help you. The flavors of ice cream rotate but they are so good. Today, I had the Mint Avalanche…fun fact, they will make you an ice cream sandwich if you ask. They have home made monster cookies that I think are gluten free…if you don’t care if you eat gluten you wouldn’t know you are missing out and if you can’t have gluten, boom! Gluten free cookie ice cream sandwich. Love this place and will be back next time we are in town.
