Sugar Factory American Brasserie is bringing its high-energy atmosphere to Dover, DE. Opening January 28, 2021, the family-friendly, celebration destination will be located at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.
Located on the east end of the hotel property, the 7,000 square foot restaurant will feature a 250 seat, elaborately decorated dining room where guests can pose for instagrammable photos in front of several colorful flower walls and neon signs. The connecting 1,060 square foot retail store will feature Sugar Factory’s signature floor-to-ceiling candy wall with more than 500 types of sweet treats to choose from.
The restaurant’s Carousel Bar area will be lit with decorative carousel themed lights bulbs and feature 42 seats.

Excellent experience until the bill came. I was told it was pricey by friends, but the $70 (before tip) bill was still a bit of a shock, but I ordered a $36 drink (yep $36 for one HUGE, hard poured drink) and a meal, no appetizers. I went alone, so I just splurged on me. Not something I’ll do often but I will be back.

This was a fun experience for kids, yet going for lunch doesn’t seem to be an option as they serve an extremely limited menu until brunch is over at 2. Prices are insanely high, and I was fully aware that they’d be high but $36 for a goblet that smoked blew my mind! There was not much in food options for kids either and a little disappointing, food came out at random & wait staff seemed a bit frazzled.

I have been coming here since they opened and the quality of the food is going down hill. For what you get the cost is very high. It is also dirty the tables are sticky and the bar top is always dirty. There are other places to eat if there open go there. Italian or steak place very good and worth the price.

Upon arrival there was no host. We waited around five minutes. We were then greeted and informed a table had to be cleaned. After being seated we were greeted. I want to say her name was Jade. She took our drinks. Returned back and retrieved our orders. The food was regular food way too overpriced. Overcooked chicken too hard to bite down. The shrimp poppers were regular. Our dishes kept piling up and our server never came to get them. I was literally running down our server to get refills. Not a family setting at all. The music and scenery is Terri much for children. But the whole set up is kiddy. Our tab was $160 we had 2 entrees 2 appetizers 4 refillable drinks & 3 milkshakes. All worth $45 but hey. Nice first and last time.

I was quickly seated with a reservation to celebrate a birthday of someone in the family. Despite the lack of customers, it took some time before we were able to order, get refills on drinks, and receive our food—we only ordered water, 2 milkshakes, 1 sundae, a chocolate ice cream in a bowl, as well as two appetizers, which tasted wonderful, but nothing too spectacular. If I were to return, I would only come here for a unique dessert and nothing more.
