Our lunch at Sugar Fire BBQ in St. Louis was an absolute treat! As we journeyed from Branson MO to Kentucky, we stumbled upon this gem, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip.

Absolutely spot on atmosphere and service. The line by the cutters and servers was perfect. The guy with all the smoked meats was perfectly efficient with the gorgeous juicy fork tender meats, a pitch perfect call-out of the orders, and the half sheet pan service was amazing.

Over the last two years I’ve had BBQ in Memphis, Texas, Kansas City and now St. Louis. This place is right up there with the best I’ve tried! The turkey was amazing and likely the best turkey I’ve ever had. Highly recommend stopping in here!

Amazing brisket I can’t think of the last time I had brisket that good! We also had turkey, collard greens (slightly spicy), potato casserole, cheddar sausage. All were super good! They have different bottled sodas and fountain drinks. The atmosphere was pretty loud, the kitchen couldn’t really hear you order well. They also let us know the ac went out earlier that day so it was pretty hot. Other than that it would be a 5 star! Also it’s order and sit style!

We heard so much hype about this iconic place. Gotta tell ya, it lives up to the hype. Smoked brisket was fantastic. Multiple choices of sauce to choose from. Service was excellent. So you come in look at the menu and order then go sit down. The place got filled up really quickly for lunch. We went right when they opened. Meter street parking is available. Portion was generous.

I was surprised to walk into Sugarfire Smoke House and see a line of 40+ people standing in line ahead of me. I figured I must have picked a good place. The good news is the line actually moved much faster than anticipated. The food line and the seating is cafeteria style. I was disappointed that they were out of brisket, which meant no brisket or burnt ends. I tried the four rib dinner and it wasn’t that great. The flavor was okay, but the ribs were tough. They do have approximately six different barbecue sauce flavors. I will try them again, because I’m guessing the other meats are good. The french fries were great!

One of the coolest and funkiest atmospheres I have seen. Their food service system was great, kind of like a buffet set up where you get a platter and tell them what you want. It was very colorful inside and the service was great, half a mile away from the gateway arch, within walking distance. The food was amazing especially with there many sauces tyey have at the table. Was not disappointed with trying it for the first time.

the vibes here are great! the cooks are having a great time and made a point to include everyone in line in their good time. they were all ready to recommend their favorites. i put the coffee sauce on my pulled pork and it was delicious – it doesn’t have a strong coffee taste, but you can tell that the coffee is giving the sauce a really interesting fullness that you don’t usually have in barbecue sauce. my stepdad got the ribs and said there was a ton of meat and it was cooked well. the sides were good too. the baked beans were different than i’ve had before, more of a soupy than creamy texture, but delicious. the mac and cheese was pretty standard, but in a good way – they didn’t risk messing it up, and it was creamy and cheesy! would definitely return!

Delicious barbeque. We got the meat daddy that come with 5 meats, two sides, and a drink. The smoked brisket and the sausage link was amazing. The pulled pork and the ribs(we got two orders of ribs with the choose 5) were delicious. We added an extra side, extra drink, and hush puppies for a total (after tip) of about $53. It was absolutely worth the wait and money. The meat daddy was more than enough food for 2.

Went here to have that St. Louis barbecue experience. I was more impressed by the baked beans and cornbread which were some of the best I’ve ever had. My husband enjoyed the meats but we both were a bit let down by the flavor of the sauces available. It’s possible it’s that we live in a different part of the country and they weren’t to our taste? A bit pricy as well.
