Read these amazing reviews and though of going to Sunny side diner today for brunch. I called 10 mins earlier and was told there is no wait for a table. When we arrived we were asked to take table on a side where there was no server, but they were going to serving us. The same server who was about to leave for another job, served coffee (just warm enough) and got other drinks. She mentioned three times the other server will show up in a minute, the other server kept ignoring our table. The other server just did not want to walk a few steps and take our order. Our order was finally taken by the server who was in a hurry to leave for another job, but the attitudes of these servers is very bossy. Although they keep saying ‘honey’, the OK, at the end makes me wonder why are customers getting scolded. After food was served, no one showed up to ask if we needed anything else. I wanted water, some more coffee and a take out box, the server just didn’t care. I understand they were short staff, but no acknowledgement, no eye contact and no sorry makes me wonder why are they even working there if they are so grumpy and unhappy. We had to leave the money on the table as we never got a receipt. The food is average (it’s eggs, what can go wrong), but the bad attitude deserves a zero star. Never going there again.

Place is good. Food is good and the waitress are all sweethearts. Hours need to be updated. Most of the time when going they are “closing” and cannot sit us. Google says they close at 2pm but I walk-in around 12:30pm and the lady looked at us and whispered “we are closing“.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My mother liked it, which is perhaps the best review I can give. Excellent food! And a staff with more emotional intelligence than most places… adjusting music volume, providing kid friendly ordering suggestions and just … being friendly.

Haha, YES! Brought a friend here from England for a “classic American diner” experience. It’s the PERFECT greasy spoon diner that I’d hoped for. We grew up outside of Pittsburgh going to places like this: friendly / chatty / quick witted waitstaff, quick / tasty / inexpensive food from the grill, “secret sauce” sold in a label-free glass bottle and to top it off, an over abundance of kitschy Americana decorations. QUINTESSENTIAL AMERICAN DINER!

Been going here since I was a little kid. Always a good time and never a bad plate of food.

Fantastic service from Cindy. Delicious and filling breakfast. I had the Irish Benedict and my buddy had them make him an omelette. Both were flavorful, large portions, and served hot in a very short time. We found Sunnyside in a Google search of nest rated breakfasts near us and we’re not disappointed.

We had to sit on a table close to the entrance because at the back of the place the sitting space between the tables and the seats is very narrow. There were customers talking really loud next to our table. The prices were raised too much. I paid $50 for breakfasts for two people.
