Established in 1981 in downtown Walnut Creek, Sunrise Bistro and Catering is committed to serving the Bay Area fresh, sustainable, housemade foods. We are committed to cooking from scratch as we make almost everything we serve in house, from the baking of our sandwich breads to the making of our own, amazing salad dressings. We are leaders in sustainable practices, and source organic foods wherever possible. We believe strongly in our real food philosophy and minimize the addition of any processed foods / ingredients.

This place is very busy. We had an hour wait. If you’re in a hurry, this isn’t the place to go. The food was very good. Everything we had was impressive. The food quality was great. Great coffee refill service. Bathrooms were clean. Inside was clean but not stylish.

Sunrise catered my wedding! They were so helpful and accommodating during the planning process. We had a salad and sandwich cold buffet and everyone absolutely loved their food. Their setup was beautiful and the staff was incredibly helpful during the event.

We ordered a breakfast burrito and the eggs Benedict. Both were very tasty and served hot. The restaurant is designed so you order at the counter and take a number for food delivery to your table. They had numerous coffee runners, so your cup was never empty. It fills up quickly on the weekend

I wish I would’ve taken more pics. The place is cozy and it has indoor and outdoor seating. They have a standard procedure where you order your food ahead of time at the register and then you go sit down at the table assigned and wait for your food. The service and food were great! The picture shows the bacon quiche. They have a small little bakery with pastries as well. We got a croissant and cinnamon roll. Very yummy!

Burrito bowl with bacon was essentially a skillet with your choice of meat and a small carafe of salsa. The ratio of meat to potato was satisfying. The topping was a colby jack cheese. Chai Tea Latte with oat milk was superb, delicious, and not too sweet. One of the best chai teas I have tasted.

I got a veggie skillet with sourdough bread and two cups of coffee. The sourdough bread was tough to come by though. My meal came with it, but they forgot to bring it out the first time. I asked a waitress about it and she said she would get it for me. Five minutes later, there was still no bread. So I asked another waiter about it and he said he’d get it. Guess what happened five minutes later…. still no bread. So then I walked inside (I was sitting outside) and politely asked the hostess for some bread with my meal. She told me she’d bring it to my table. Ten minutes later…I kid you not, still no bread. I even timed that one. So I walked back in and calmly asked the same hostess for some bread. She said, “weren’t you in here 10 minutes ago” and I said, “yes, but I never got the bread”. She told me she’d bring it out to me. I don’t know why, but for some reason I still believed her. Low and behold, only two minutes later my bread came out. It was really good

In general, I’d say the food quality is good, and it’s a decent option for those looking for a breakfast/ brunch place in the area, of which there are surprisingly few. It’s the best I’ve found thus far in the Lafayette-WC area, and I will be coming back. (FYI, I had the Chelsea’s Omelette, which was all good, and what I would expect of a decent omelette).

First time here, not familiar with any place in walnut creek, it showed up on my google search, and it really lived up to the reviews. GREAT AMBIENCE, GREAT FOOD, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. It was a saturday, and the place had a lot of customers. The wait wasnt bad, 10 mins. And the food comes out fast too..my daughter said this is now her fave restaurant.

Came in with my mom and son this week for some breakfast. The wait time wasn’t too bad and they have a little bench for waiting. We ordered at the counter which was a little strange since they handed us menus (why not just have the menu posted?) and were told where to sit. Our food came in under 10 minutes which was impressive. My mom and I ordered the same scramble which cost a lot but was super filling. I actually took about 1/3 of it home but my mom finished the whole thing. My son ordered off the kid’s menu and I don’t remember what he had but he finished it and enjoyed the bacon. The fruit they served was delicious and when I realized there wasn’t enough sour cream for the size of the plate, I was able to ask for some and they gave it to me in a plastic ramekin which was perfect for taking the rest home. I definitely don’t know if I could afford to come here again with my son, but I wouldn’t mind ordering that scramble again for myself. Absolutely delicious.
