We are a chef driven eatery with a combined 35+ years of culinary experience from all aspects of front and back of house. We want to create an environment and a culture that we would be attracted to as guests, all centered around making incredible food in beautiful Maui.

We came to the food truck park three times just because I kept wanting to get the Duck, Duck, Goat before we left Maui! The third time they were sold out though It’s SO good…probably my favorite thing I’ve eaten here! I also had the Bao Chicka Bao Bao which was very good, and the Island Piggy which I didn’t love (I just didn’t think it had a lot of flavor). These buns are AMAZING! We tried out this food truck while visiting Maui and it was so good! We only got 2 buns and I wish we got more. The Little Piggy caught my eye first for the Ube bun. Inside the bun was pork belly, guava glaze, pickled daikon, carrot, jalapeño, and cilantro.

Firstly, props to the person behind all of the puns here – miso happy looking at them! I was a little disappointed by the wait for the food(hangry me), but the very first bite made me realize the wait was because everything was cooked fresh. Buns were so soft!

They’ve upgraded their food truck and their menu while still staying true to the oldie favorites they originally had. I was pleasantly surprised with their ice cream Bao buns! I ordered one with vanilla ice cream and toasted coconut on top. I also tried their Duck, Duck, Goat Bao bun and their Shark Bait Bao bun which were new additions to the menu and they were all flavorful and amazing. The owners are very passionate foodies and it shows with the quality of their food.

This is a MUST!!!! Wowza – the Crispy Shrimp and Veggie Miso Trippy Bao Buns are out of this world! The glaze on both is so flavorful and unique! Chilled Edama was yummy but another MUST have is the fried cauliflower with a honey garlic sauce. I’m a pescatarian. My sister-in-law was leary but she loved it too! She ordered it on our second visit to Suns Out.

I am a huge Bao bun gal and I was excited when one opened up in the food truck lot. I ordered the Bao Bites (sweet) and a “Little Piggy” (savory) and a “Shorty” Bao Bun (savory). I was pleasantly surprised when the savory Bao buns came with a side of Taro chips. You can tell that the chefs/owners of this food truck really have a passion for their food by the quality of the dishes they’ve put out. The pork belly and short rib Bao buns were very tender and packed full of flavor. The Taro chips were delicate with a touch of salt. It is a much more healthier alternative to regular potato chips and they are my favorite type of chips. The Bao Bites sweet dessert dish came with 3 sauces to dip the cinnamon sugar coated fried Bao bites into. From what I’ve tasted this place has some chronic food and I would definitely reccomend.
