This is a HIDDEN GEM.If you’re looking for AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE FOOD, this is the place to go! I love love love viet food and miss it so much after having moved here from Bay Area, California. I’ve tried at at least 10 viet places around SLC county and Sunsi does it RIGHT. It’ll be my go to from here on out over ALLLL the other Viet places. It wasn’t a long wait for our food at all. I felt bad because we arrived around 7:35PM and they close at 8:00PM. The owner still openly accommodated and answered all our questions. I ordered their Bun Rieu (tomato and crab noodle soup) and it was 10/10 for Utah. The noodle soup also had their homemade crab meatball mixture (none of that processed frozen fish ball stuff) and I ended up drinking up all the broth too . My bf got the Chao (rice porridge) , the meat was not gamey at all and the fried shallot oil made it SOO yummy too!!! The flavors here are all well balanced, (If you’ve had enough pho/bbh here in Utah you’d notice that their soups are sooo sweet for some reason, idk might be a regional thing? I personally do not enjoy it). For dessert we ordered a type of Che (similar to che ba mau, three color bean drink, except with a coconut sticky rice) and fruit tea. The che was SOOO GOOD and fresh similar to the ones back in San Jose,CA. Next time I’ll probably bring the desserts home and add crushed ice. The fruit tea was quite sweet, I didn’t try asking for 25% less sweet, but you could definitely add more ice at home and make it two servings. I would pass on the boba personally, i think its agar boba unless you like that. I went back two days later to try their Corn Pudding and Egg Rolls. Would order again 10/10. They have sooo many items on their menu I’m planning to go back to try their Duck noodle soup and Bahn Xeo ….. and everything else! I never write google reviews and I hope more people end up trying this place out cause Utah needs all the help it can get. They opened up about 10 months ago and I’m really hoping this place stays!!! As for gluten free options, if you ask the owner he will tell you which dishes use soy sauce/wheat flour. He did mention that most dishes only use fish sauce.

This is just a ‘Take Away’ location, but they actually have some of the best standard Vietnamese food around. Best Pho in south valley. Amazing Pork Bahn Mi. LOVE their fresh Spring Rolls, and their Egg Rolls. Excellent fried rice. All of our family and friends go here on a regular basis to pick up great food.

This place is amazing! With Smith’s next door, I had decided to stop before grocery shopping. Sunsi took me by complete surprise. The food was incredible! They make their food fresh and by hand and Seriously, I don’t think I’ve had a egg roll that good in probably two decades! Thank you kindly sunsi. I’ll see you again soon!!!

Just tried Sunsi out today. It’s small and unassuming location wise. I’ve been visiting Vietnamese places my whole life, and this by far has the best vermicelli bowl I have ever had. Or at least the gold standard! If you don’t know what that is definitely give it a try. It’s a thin rice noodle dish with seasoned pork (Perfectly seasoned and cooked here), cool crunchy cucumbers and sprouts, sweet pickled carrots, and an eggroll on the side. The flavorful sauce brings all the flavors together. It’s refreshing. It’s filling. Definitely my future go to spot for vermicelli bowls.
