When this placed first opened it was great. The food has now become mediocre and the portion sizes have significantly decreased. I asked for sour cream on my burrito bowl and watched the staff very carefully measure out the smallest dollop one could imagine. When I went there for dinner yesterday evening the staff seemed overwhelmed, slightly confused and the salsa bar was basically empty. One extra star in their favor for the nice hot sauce selection.

My wife and I decided to try Surcheros for the first time today. There were a few people in line but nothing crazy. We waited for roughly ten minutes and the line never moved. They ran out of chicken I guess so one of the staff just pulled himself off the line to cook. The other kid stayed on the line and just started doing prep work and cleaning completely ignoring the fact that he had customers for several minutes. We had to just leave hungry. I don’t think we will return.

The food is delicious! That is only reason I continue to go, but today was my last time. A new employee put on gloves, picked up her phone to text, and then came over to fix my food … ALL WITH THE SAME GLOVES SHE WAS JUST TOUCH HER PHONE WITH! Not to mention, instead of using the spoons that are provided for some ingredients, she used her hands! The team NEEDED HELP! The tables are always dirty! I have never wanted to eat inside. The cashier was running back and forth to answer questions and help the cooks. It was ridiculous. After being disgusted with the way my wrap was fixed, I kindly left and went over to Willys on Alps. Surcheros has wonderful food, but I hope this one in Athens gets a new team or new management soon. I will not be returning. GERMS. GERMS. GERMS ARE SWARMING THE PLACE!

The absolute worst service I’ve ever had a burrito spot consistently. Today I waited 15 minutes in a line of 4 to 5 people, then they broke my burrito and had to re-wrap it, and when they finally wrapped my burrito and gave it to me already boxed without me watching them because they line had to keep moving, and they gave me the wrong burrito. I clarified many times before I left and the staff said it was mine. I opened the box and it had the correct markins. They charged me for extra meat and extra queso because that’s what i ordered, but i ended up getting none of it. The sad thing is, on the extremely rare occasion that they make your food correct or with real portions, it’s amazing. Moral of the review, never come here ever.

The food was great, the establishment was very clean, BUTTT what sold me the most was the customer service from Mikayla & Stormi. I went there twice last week and they were both there both times, the second time it was a little busy but they still kept their pleasant attitudes. It’s very refreshing to see excellent customer service in an era where most restaurant staff are rude and or nonchalant…. Great job to upper management at this location, from the employees you hired, cleanliness & etc it shows you care !!
