I went here for my birthday dinner yesterday. The food was delicious and amazing. I got some sushi! Upon paying, me and my friends paid for drinks. We didn’t know we had paid for a canned drink over a bottled drink and the owner/manager was yelling at us and being aggressive that we grabbed a bottled drink (that was 20 cents more expensive) and we had offered to pay the difference and he just continued causing a scene. I’d go back for the food, 100% but the manager needs therapy.

Please do not eat the spare ribs at this place. It had been almost a year since my last visit and found them to be in their worst possible state. The dish was comprised of 80% bone, 10% meat, and 10% covered in a floury coating. This is not exaggeration. I feel like I just drank sugar-added sauce, and only sucked the meat attached to the bone coated with flour. Perhaps I was just unlucky today. So I asked to owner, but he claimed that it had always been this way. However, I can say with certainty that at least a year ago, this was not the case. This dish was a favorite of mine, and I had ordered it over 20 times before. But the owner refused to listen and insisted that it had always been like this. This is why I am leaving this review on Google.

Nothing in our order seemed as though it was fresh and/or cooked thoroughly. The takoyaki seemed undercooked, the ramen was overcooked, and the boba was hard as a rock. By far, the worst part is the fact that the tuna roll had the consistency of paste. The person who handles their social media is likely going to try to spin this around and tell me that non of this is true, or that this is my fault like they did with all the other one star reviews, but I strongly recommend not eating here. Not trying to be mean, but this place is in strong need of reorganization.

Delicious food and with good price. I got a Chicken Stir Fried Udon, was the best I’ve in Urbana Champaign so far. Don’t ask for double noodles, it is too much… The regular portion is more than enough.

In terms of quantity and quality-to-price ratio, Sushi Ichiban is the best sushi place on campus when it comes to the combos. You’ll be getting around 18 rolls of sushi for around $14 for the 3 roll combo, which is very generous compared to other places. The quality of the sushi is also not bad.

I discovered this place about 6 months ago, and it has been my go-to sushi place! Great prices and always super yummy sushi. I’ve tried a few sides too and enjoyed those as well. Would definitely recommend!

The cheapest in town for a reason, lazy sushi. I’ve been a few times and have had ingredients , like the blackened avocado in the pic, that are too old to be served, which makes me question the seafood in the rolls. For the price I wasn’t expecting high quality, but at least something fresh. Also, with the 3 roll ( each roll 6 pieces as listed on the site ) lunch combo, they have never given me 6 pieces of each roll. oh well:/

Best sushi for its value. Always love their salmon rolls. By comparison, Sushi Rock has less food but better presentation. In the photo from left to right is spicy yellowtail, Texas scorpion, and spicy salmon rolls. Chicken stick is in the bowl.

Decent sushi. The owner is always there and pretty friendly. There are a lot of rules you have sit through if you want to do the all you can eat sushi. It it’s understandable since it’s so labor intensive to make and then have people waste it. In the middle of campus so parking is hard to find.

Idk how I ate this in undergrad. Probably cause it was actually cheap sushi and I would eat anything. If you want overpriced sushi, better to go to Sakanaya.
