Sushi Jin has been on my list for a long time, so I was excited to finally try the omakase.

We went to Omakasa dinner in Mountain View last night, “Sushi Jin”! $135 person and started with bottle of Sake @ $81, the Uni tasting was $55 each and it wasn’t the freshest I’ve had and a few more pieces of sushi for $10.5 and $13.5 each!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my entire life. The staff was incredible, friendly and informative. The omakase was absolutely out of this world and every single plate was delicious. The drinks were equally as enjoyable with an extensive Sake menu to indulge in. I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion because while incredible it is a pricier option

Excellent meal at this cozy little spot in Mountain View. This space has gone through a few restaurant iterations but this is clearly the best yet. The food was really spot on. Excellent quality fish and some very rare offerings that are difficult to find. Beautiful presentations, great flavors, and a thrilling variety of choices. Would definitely recommend the omakase for first time visitors. It is fairly priced and very high quality. Would like to see a bit more variety on the wine list although what they did have was very appropriate and paired well. A few stumbles on the service in terms of timing and wine service, but, overall, a very memorable experience. Highly recommended.

The omakase is beautifully presented, and the freshness of the ingredients is to be noted. Several Ala-cart options were added to the omakase. It is not a typical sushi place that serves your usual tuna and salmon only. There is many fish and seafood option I have never seen before. I would say their sake selections make it hard to choose what to get. In the end, I opted for two different sake in a glass format to adequately paired with the meal. The waitress is knowledgeable about the sake list on what pairs well. Not a place to be missed if you want a proper omakase.

I’ve been here quite a few times now, and I’ve enjoyed every experience! The sushi is always fresh and delicious. They have a little bar area at the front, so it’s not awkward at all to dine alone. I’ve also ordered takeout, and it’s always ready on time and packed so well.

Easily in the top 2 omakase experiences of my life (including the time I had it in Japan proper). It gets right what a lot of places get wrong: you feel amazing and delighted the entire experience, even after you finish the full course.

We love omakase and this place provides an amazing experience with one of the best quality fishes we tried in the Bay Area. Finally there’s no need to drive all the way to SF for this level of sushi

Great omakase experience for a reasonable price ($135). The kanpachi was pretty perfect and the sawara was so flavorful. The seared chu toro was perfect and not overly cooked like some other places (they only sear one end of it briefly). They have some creative takes on nigiri, like egg yolk on the akami tuna. If you venture into the à la carte menu, they have a lot of awesome fishes rarely found in other places, like nodoguro (black throat sea perch), which has a most exquisite multidimensional taste that melts into a buttery finish. The chefs are great to talk to and the server was very attentive and thoughtful too.
