Outstanding omakase! I opted for the 18 course dinner and it was exactly the right amount of food. Each piece of fish was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was phenomenal. Truly lovely staff as well. What a gem on the UWS.

This is by far my favorite Omakase in the city. I’ve been to Amane, Nakazawa and others and still keep coming back here. First off, the staff are incredibly attentive. Steven who runs shop is so sweet and even remembers our favorite seats. The food is of course incredible. I’ve had chutoro and otoro in places across the city but it’s here that I’ve felt compelled to take a photo as the marbling is just perfect and delicious.

Came here with high expectations and was not disappointed! Staffs and chef was authentic Japanese. I did the 16 piece omakase for $120 per person and apparently no tips required but recommended tip cash as an optional choice. Each sushi piece melts in my mouth and full of flavor of the different fishes I intake. I was amazed about the texture that I was able to feel which is comparable to a lot of other Michelin places out there. However I didn’t like the shrimp piece as it was super mushy… And did not give me a clean feeling… But I don’t blame them – not many sushi places are able to create that taste. The eel piece seems to be grilled from fresh but a bit different from the eel you usually eat at sushi places. I was soso about it but it wasn’t too bad. All the other pieces were pretty good. The ending course was just ok though – wrapped up with this egg piece and miss soup that I was just ok about. But either way I would totally recommend this place to any sushi lovers out there.

Trying to imagine the gall of someone who leaves less than perfect stars. It’s definitely not a cheap night, but pretty singular for the price point. If you want a fine dining sushi experience that’s comparable in price to even mid-tier dining on Central Park West this is your move. We went for my birthday and then again for Valentine’s Day. The best splurge on the upper west side and the cheapest omakase I’ve ever heard of. The fish is beautiful, they change it up enough to justify multiple visits and it’s quiet, seatings of two only and no one gets in each other’s grill. The staff are nice. Everyone there is excited to be there but no one’s being too much about it. 11/10.

Terrible faux Omakase. Same Chinese owners of sushi yasaka across the street. the presentation, service and atmosphere was incredibly cheap and careless. Everything is served on plastic bowls and spoons-hardly what you’d expect for $150pp- hand wipes and healing bowl of pickled ginger left on the table the entire meal. None of the staff is Japanese and the food is just so faux. As if someone snuck into a 5 star establishment and asked a kid to duplicate it. We were served a scoop of ice cream as we dined in 40 degree weather shivering outside in a dilapidated dirty tarp. No bathroom and the manager/server rushed the entire omakase in 30 minutes, hostile and rude. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Awful experience from start to finish. Truly a con job.

Celebrated a birthday here and it was such a unique experience and great way to celebrate! We made a reservation a couple weeks in advance (definitely a must), and were seated right away when we walked in, in the 2 window corner seats. The vibe is super peaceful and calm, since there are only chef’s counter seats, no tables. Great saké selection, and then every course of sushi was incredible! Even the $95 option is filling if you want to go a little lighter, or the $120 is totally worth it as well. Amazing attentive service, highest quality fish I’ve had, casual but nice ambiance, all around a great meal and somewhere I’d definitely come back for a special occasion in the future.
