First off, I tried to get into Taneda – forget about it. You have to camp out online on the day they release reservations and I just am not that patient. So I stumbled upon SUZUKI sushi and it was very good, excellent maybe. Though I don’t have a lot of experience with these kinds of high end sushi restaurants, I still think I know sushi well enough to know what’s good, great, or excellent. I do want to try Taneda and Sushi by Scratch to compare. But I will be back, when I save up a little.

Chef Suzuki is a bit different from many sushi chefs. You can tell he has a sense of humor and it is reflected in his food (marinating and/or smoking the fish is something I don’t see often at sushi establishments). I enjoyed seeing the ingredients before the omakase started as well as being informed of how they were prepared. I ordered the hojicha from Kyoto and they consistently filled it with water so I was able to enjoy numerous cups throughout service.

Chef Suzuki served us the best omakase in Seattle! The sushi was innovative and the space is warm and inviting. You can tell he cares deeply about his craft and took the time to explain the unique dishes and nigiri he served. Absolutely make your way to a dinner as it’s a really spectacular experience!

Perhaps the finest omakase sushi experience of my life and I’ve had some great ones. The room is beautiful. Like you’re in a country inn in Kyoto. The device- spectacular. Incredible beverages, strong wine and sake program. 21 course meal paced beautifully. Sheer perfection!

It’s relatively easy to get a reservation compared to other Sushi bars around the town (1 week ahead). The portion is small (but I like that). Easy to find a street parking nearby. Additional order at the end was a surprise, even it’s not mentioned, we still got the tuna collar we wanted.

This is the best sushi I’ve had in my life, it’s an experience. My idea of what sushi can be has changed. Each piece was unique and explode in my mouth with flavor. The 20 dish course was filling, with the option of getting an additional 5 worth it, but also you will be stuffed. You can watch them prepare each dish in front, and all of the care and detail that goes into each one. Highly recommend to anyone who wants some of the best sushi in Seattle.

Spectacular omakase by chef Suzuki. The space and dining experience was intimate yet inviting and friendly. 21 thoughtful courses with my fav being the amaebi and chutoro zuke. Cannot wait to go back.

This is the best sushi I have ever had and I’m 76 years young. The food is prepared in front of you and it’s a 20 course meal minimum so plan on spending two hours eating. In addition to individual servings of alcohol they also offer flights of sake paired with the courses. I can’t say enough about how great the place is and Chef Suzuki is a character! It may be a little hard to find but well worth the effort.

A perfect sushi dinner. Great service. Delicious sushi. They make everyone feel comfortable and are happy to make adjustments for their guest dietary needs. They even offer to make smaller rice balls so you don’t get too full before all the courses. It was worth the expense.
