Superb sushi, teriyaki and tempura dishes. Fast, efficient, friendly service. Reasonable prices for the excellent quality food. While the atmosphere may be typical tiny cramped Jersey strip mall storefront, the quick, excellent service and food prep. had us enjoying the informality and casual air along with the rest of the packed crowd of this obviously highly popular establishment! Highly recommended.

Their sushi is disgusting. The special rolls aren’t even using real fish. Look at the food die they are adding to a minced spicy tuna?!!! Wth is that ? Is that rice crispies or rice pate in that special spicy roll. It tasted gross and the real fish had some weird white ‘mayo’ milk mix that was also nasty. Do not eat sushi in Sparta – it’s a joke. Go get it from the super market if you want better quality.

Rolls haphazardly made, Wasabi made it into 1 Golden Dragon roll, both Golden Dragon rolls missing drizzle and too much crab meat stuffing, 4 wheel ordered and received something different. It was good but usually spectacular.

Best sushi around. I made the mistake of going to Halulu’s in Byram yesterday and for the prices I could’ve gotten not only way more sushi from Sushi Ya but also way better quality. I love this place, have been going for years and decided it’s time to give them a little recognition because they really deserve it.
