I have to say this is in my top 3 sushi restaurant choices in Arizona. I’ve reviewed and been to many sushi spots, and I am consistent in what I am looking for. First, how busy is the restaurant when I come in? When I went in, I was the first that day right at opening. The service was quick, and I felt like there were a good range of options. The second thing I consider is how pricy each item is. I found that the prices were very reasonable. If I can get a sushi roll around $5 or less, that’s a great find. Luckily, you can get away with spending $10 per person. Lastly, I judge the food it’s self. A spicy salmon handroll is always my go-to. It’s a great roll to pick when you want to consider texture, flavor, and portion size. Everywhere I go, everyone does it a little differently. In this case, the texture was minced and creamy. The flavor was interesting, as I could taste the Sriracha in the first bite, but I couldn’t tell if they mixed their salmon with anything spicy or not. This is a good indicator to tell if their spicy rolls will have a kick or not. The size was great, I felt like I got a good portion of fish. I did order a calamari appetizer as well as their stuffed mushroom. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the flavors were great. The stuffed mushrooms…. were stunning. Overall, this cozy restaurant was wonderful, and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes a chill, comforting environment. The sushi is great, the service and prices match just perfectly.

I came here with a friend and we had a few dishes. It was my first time here and I am sure I will return. The food was so good and fresh and also very nice looking. Just be mindful that they close at 2 o’clock and they reopen for dinner later.

Pork belly, smoke salmon sushi and scallion sashimi! We’ve been ordering from here for 8 years and have never been disappointed! My kids love the fried calamari, kids honey chicken and the avocado roll! This place is 100% about the food! We always order for pickup so can’t comment on the dining experience. Highly recommended!

The owner is extremely rude, my wife and I used to come here all the time. I ordered some beers and showed my ID to the waitress. As soon as we get our beers the owner comes over and literally snatches the beer out of my hand. He then demands to see my ID himself very loudly. Everyone is staring at us. We literally have spend thousands of dollars here and I’ve purchased alcohol many times and never had a problem. There’s a way to go about things like age protocol and being aggressive isn’t the way to do that.

First time being there and it was delicious. We had the lollipop roll and butterfly roll and both were on point. Fresh, light and perfect.

Came across the restaurant by accident, but so glad we did! Great service, great food, beautiful presentation! We ordered salmon sashimi and it was so buttery and delicious. Las Vegas roll was so good! 10/10 would recommend!!

Very mediocre food. The fish quality was not super fresh. Teriyaki salmon tasted weird. It was not like authentic Japanese teriyaki salmon. More like pan fried then slathered with teriyaki sauce and served with regular rice. It was not good rice. Should have been served with some quality Japanese short grain rice. We ordered tobiko (flying fish roe) nigiri for my kid another time and it was bad! Bad as in spoiled! It reeked of an ammonia smell. I hope everyone has this basic knowledge that if something smells off and especially like a chemical… You should NOT eat it. I nearly threw up each time I opened the togo container to reinspect thinking it’s just me. I ordered this during evening time, so I’m sure the tobiko was used in other dishes throughout the day. I hope no one got sick! The restaurant is very stuffy. The moment you walk in, you will leave smelling of food. I really wanted to like this place, and was hoping for it to be my go to when I wanted sushi, but sadly I don’t be returning. I will confirm that the staff is nice. This place has so much potential. It really needs some TLC. Quality control, a makeover, and ventilation.

Let me start out by saying that I tried to eat at this restaurant yesterday. I showed up at 8:45 and nobody was there. It was closed even though it clearly shows they were open till 9:30. This is frustrating, but I thought I would give them a second chance.

Partner and I went here for a date night. We came at about 5:30 pm, asked for a booth and put our name down to wait about 30 ninutes, no problem. We’re seated and service just halts. Took maybe 7ish minutes to grab water. We put in our order and we waited almost an entire hour. People who had come in after us were getting served before us. When the food finally showed up, it was actually pretty fantastic. They put us off to the side and just ignored us. When we left, it was 7:40 pm! All the staff was terse and short with no check ins at all. This is some of the most abysmal service I’ve had. If the food weren’t so good, I’d give them 1 star, but the food carries the god awful service. The food is good, but they disrespect your time, so I wouldn’t go here. Yama Sushi is a tad more expensive, but the service is so much better, I wish I’d have gone there instead.

Sushi is decent but I personally don’t like it too much. The owners and employees are super friendly, I’ll give them that. I think the most enjoyable was the pot stickers. The rolls have a bit too many sesame seeds and the cucumber was mostly peel which was kinda gross. My fiance had the spicy tuna and it made her sick with how fishy it was. I was a little disappointed seeing sushi was in the name of the restaurant. There’s a huge sushi market in this area and unfortunately you can get much better elsewhere.
