Food not very tasty today. My friend had taco salad with very little meat, tomatoes, etc. Taco salad was 90 percent lettuce and taco shell was, per my friend ” oily and stale”and shell was very dark in color, almost to the point of being burnt. Waitress(Marie) was not at all friendly. Never offered us refills of water and did not ask how our food was or even say goodbye when she took our money for the food. Noticed the other waitresses were friendly and cheerful. Today was not a pleasant experience.

Genuine Midwestern café with Scandinavian slant. Ribs, chicken and beef sandwiches with potatoes and gravy. Pickled herring and beets at the salad bar. Friendly staff. Solid restaurant with a strong local customer base.

Got the French toast which was basically just egg battered bread ( no cinnamon or vanilla or you know flavor) my boyfriend’s bacon was cold, hard, and burnt. That was all kinda expected, I have never had great food there just cheap, greasy breakfast food. And then the bill cane prices were average I guess. Our bill was $25 I put $40 on the table waitress came and then never brought my change back giving herself a $15 tip. I was planning on tipping, but definitely not $15 since her service was not great. But the fact that she just decided to keep the change was rude and unprofessional. If you are in town go to Mimi’s on mainstreet , the food is amazing, staff is great, the only reason we didn’t go today is cause it was really busy.
