Sweet Ginger is the best place for sushi in Sausalito. Don’t be fooled by the over priced sushi neighbors down the street. Sweet Ginger has been a mainstay for 20+ years and there is a reason why they are still around. Dine in or takeout, the quality is so consistent and impressive. The owners are behind the counter and on the floor every day. The quality of the fish is outstanding. It actually melts in our mouths it’s so good. If you’re wondering if you should go here or to Sushi Ran….run far away from Sushi Ran and into Sweet Ginger.

To put it plainly – I struggle to understand how this place is still in business.

There were four of us for dinner. It was fantastic. Although I live in Sausalito it was one of my guests from out of town that heard it was great food and so we tried it. Sushi Ran was booked…just as well the bill was a little easier on the pocket book !

The food was really good and they definitely have a well balanced menu with a few options of sushi main entrees and soup. So definitely something for everyone in your party. Parking is pretty easy in the area but you have to be careful for the 20 minute areas around the park. Also, not sure if it was just our luck but service was pretty slow. We had to ask a few times for water and no one came by your table to ask if we need anything the entire time we were there. For a Saturday night there was about five people eating in the restaurant but only one person who would pop in and out of the kitchen to help the people in the dining area. Probably because they have so many to go orders to process so it’s understandable, but it’s kind of annoying when you’re sitting for 10 minutes waiting for the bill or trying to get some napkins. So keep that in mind. Overall good experience and great prices with delicious food would recommend

Great little spot in Sausalito. Not the fanciest sushi in the world but a very cozy restaurant run by a family. Had a lovely dinner for one on a work trip. Will come back.

Just ordered take out, two California rolls and one salmon avocado roll. The salmon avocado roll is clearly a mix and match of pieces from different rolls all different shapes and sizes and the rice is at different levels of old/hardness for each piece. presumably just uneaten sushi from other people’s plates. The California rolls looked like they were relatively fresh from the same batch, but the crab they used smelled like a dumpster. As you can see I had to spit out every piece I tried. Do not support this business. I hope I don’t get food sickness
