For years I’ve visited Sweet Taste of Italy a couple of times a month. I usually get the meatball sub, but I think I’m going to have to find a new favorite. It used to be that the meatballs had a great peppery taste that was full of flavor. They then changed their recipe and I couldn’t taste any pepper in the meatballs. I just had another meatball sub, and it seems that they’ve changed the meatball recipe again. This time, they’ve removed any trace of flavor. They’ve got a great consistency, just no flavor.

I had the vodka sauce mixed with Alfredo on top of cheese Ravioli with a side of the sweet garlic bread! I have not had a bad meal from here. I go out of my way to dine here or get delivery.

Really good prices considering how much you get, food is great, staff is friendly and helpful with questions/allergies. After ordering, food came out very quickly, was all correct, and hot/cold as required. The cheese bread was really good, and I enjoyed the lasagna a lot as well. The trio would have fed two hungry people, but I ended up wanting to try the chicken parm as well, so leftovers were had (and held up well to reheating later!).

Pizza here is like you’re basic side chick. When you’ve had enough of the exotic stuff you come back to try these places to see if it’s gotten better… Still basic and you wonder why you gave them any of your time to begin with. dangerously oily and super dirty. Cups have calcium build up and expect you to drink out of them? Silverware older than I am . If you want tongue burns and swollen hands from the amount of salt they put on their food this place is for you.

I miss the store in Crystal! This is a little out of my way but worth the drive. We got one of the meal deals with cheese ravioli. I usually get the spagetti. It was very hearty. We barely ate half of it between the 3 of us adults. I also forgot to order the meatless marinara for my daughter but I love their meaty sauce. We did take out so I didn’t grade the atmosphere. At 4;30 it was pretty empty. I did drop a star because it wasn’t quite ready when I got there which was later than they said. But it caused me to grab a tiramisu while I waited. Yum! Was totally worth it.

I enjoyed food from Sweet taste of italy food truck at a concert in the park in Excelsior commons May 31. It was phenomenal! Both the tasty sandwiches I ordered were loaded with awesome ingredients, one had marinara sauce with it and those Fries-so good….are they even legal in MN,? OMG that seasoning!!!? 5 people sampled my food and were blown away. I have never had such good bread, it is a bit sweet and super soft, their sauce is out of this world and even though there were more than 10 food trucks at that event I only wanted this italian food. Very generous portions for the price. Hot and fast – way different than fast food. I hope you come back to concerts in the park because I will be looking for you!!! NO pictures because was devouring it!

Just had my lunch at this seemingly modest restaurant and felt compelled to write my review right away. It was just me so I had the liberty to choose what catered to my needs alone. The lady doesn’t appreciate much of Alfredo and I don’t like the Rosa 😉

“Sweet taste of Italy. In the building, it is theme like an Italian stereotype. The service was great and understands on what I wanted to add on my food. The food is sometimes good and some are great. This one is the house special with the add on of breaded chicken. It also came with garlic bread and a salad which I ate before I took pictures . The salad is always good and fresh. It did have cheese on it which I like. The garlic bread was very salty that I felt like I was gonna die. The bread was sweet which was good but I did not like the saltiness because it overpowered the sweetness a lot. The house special pasta was delicious. The sauce has flavor that covers the penne which was nice and it did not taste like water down sauce. The sausage pieces was kinda nasty just because it was strong for me. I really like the breaded chicken with how it taste and how nicely it was breaded. The vegetables are always nice. The cheese was super goopy which was delicious. The portion was huge and can feed 2 people easily. This was very affordable with all the food you get. Overall I would rate 7/10 just because some stuff are a hit of miss with the sauce.”
