This is a new place on OV! I love the chicken wings. They were fresh well prepared. Full rack ribs was delicious. Service is 20 stars and they had wine too!!! Freaking amazing!!! Keep up the good work Swell!!!!

Had the kobe bacon cheddar burger and fries. Hubby had the gilled halibut baked potatoe & asparagus. Both were exceptional! Also had the Calamari! Freshest best tasting calamari we have had in quite awhile. Drinks are made perfect as well! Great atmosphere and the people in there are very friendly.

Happy to find this little gem! Casual, gourmet, seafood and American fare restaurant nestled beside a 7//11 and a block from the beach. I had the perfectly, pan seared scallops over a bed of fresh corn and vegetable medley. All super fresh and prepared to order ingredients. I sat at the bar. The service and stmosphere is ok for an all male staff. The music could be a little more soothing or island vibeish but not too loud as there is no sound absorption. It tends to get loud as it gets crowded and people engage in conversations over their delicious dinner and drinks. The food is the star of the show! This is a must try for locals and visitors. Leave the kids with a sitter. I will be back before my vacation is over!

Cheesesteak was real shaved ribeye, seasoned perfectly and very good. The double patty burger was huge, about 1/2 lb of beef. Fries were crispy, hot, and delicious. Service was great. Lighting was a bit bright probably since we were there for lunch. Will visit again to try dinner next time.

How often do you find that one pearl among the broken shells? Rare for me, even as grey hair sets in along with a more discerning palate. Here in Willoughby Spit, the Swell Grill spot is some kind of wonderful you didn’t know you needed. ️

My wife loves this places crab cakes, and comes here often. She finally got me to go so I tried a burger and fries. My son had some handmade chicken nuggets and fries. Overall we really enjoyed the food and the service. I like the fact that the kitchen is wide open and visible. I own a cleaning business so I know just how disgustingly dirty a lot of local kitchens are, but not this one. You can literally see everything that happens in their kitchen, it is very, very clean. They take great care of the place. You can really tell these guys have pride in ownership, which is an awesome quality. We will definitely be back.

This place is good, but pretty pricey. I am not sure it is worth the price. I probably won’t go again unless it is just to try something different on the menu. I had the swordfish, which tasted pretty good but was very dry. Also, the Brussel sprouts tasted amazing, but they were raw. I mean they were crunchy.

A good friend of ours moved to Norfolk. Him and his brother became friends of the owner of Swells. He took us their for dinner and let me tell you it was the best fish and shrimp dinner that I have ever ate. The restaurant itself is not a fancy upscale looking place but the service and the food is. We are from California and the next time we go to Norfolk to visit Swells is definitely on the list to have dinner at.
