Syd’s is a local bar and grill that sits on the corner of Logan Street and 8th Street on the Historic Courthouse Square in Downtown Noblesville, Indiana. The Courthouse was built in 1879, and 10 years later the first tavern opened in the new J.L. Evans Building. The tavern benefitted from nearby railroad traffic, and it offered lodging on the upper floors. The building has always been used as a tavern except during the years 1909 to 1933 when alcohol sales were prohibited by the government. Walter Carey and Sid Gill opened Syd’s in 1945 and installed the locally famous shuffleboard game in the middle of the bar. They also coined the familiar Syd’s catch-phrase Howdy Bub. Syd’s became known for its cold drinks and friendly service.
Comfy American cornerstone in a historical building with food & drink specials, plus shuffleboard. Based on 687 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.3 stars. Price $

My first time was a success! The fried pickles were fresh and delicious! Nice little side salad to go with it too! Definitely recommend the breaded pork tenderloin. The bartender was very friendly and helpful!

It’s been many years since my last visit to Syd’s and I’ve heard they are under new ownership and have recently remodeled. Well all that is true. Wow, love remodel. I really like the new family area in back alot with the additional natural lighting. What a great addition that doesn’t take away the good ol feeling that the old Syd’s bar had! Food, drink and service was all on point. I’ll well definitely be visiting this establishment more often in the future! 5 ✨’s!

Cool bar/restaurant. Breaded tenderloin sandwich was very good. Great spot for a quick meal, quick drink or extended hang.

Fantastic classic bar. The vibe is fantastic. Ryan took care of us and was a blast. Reasonable cost. REALLY cool lounge upstairs for the times it’s open.

Had the club sandwich on Rye. It was one of the better clubs that I have had. I highly recommend it.

Under new ownership I guess, but this place is still a sh*t show on weekend nights. Don’t open a tab at the bar!! The first bartender swiped my card to open a tab. Later when I asked for my check a second bartender said they didn’t have my card on file. I gave them my card again (oops) and sure enough I was double charged the next day. Complete chaos inside this place.

Great old fashioned American bar. Home to one of the best tenderloins in the state. I had the reuben and it was phenomenal, had to stop myself from ordering a second round of food! Will definitely be a must stop from now on

I came with friends and my husband. The lady behind the bar (tatted up/dark hair) was really nice. She let us try small amounts of other drinks. It is a very nice bar. The atmosphere was great. I will be making an effort to come to syd’s again.
