I moved out to Los Angeles from New York over a year ago and since then I have been trying to find a Chinese restaurant that compares to the ones I love in New York and finally I have, Szechuwan Garden. I had a wonderful experience here and I already can’t wait to go back. The restaurant is very nice inside, I adored the peaceful vibes and gorgeous decor. The service was very good and the food was absolutely delicious. My party and I all ordered the lunch special (choice of soup or salad, an egg roll, choice of rice, and an entrée) and every one of us was extremely happy with our food. The crispy noodles that we were served when we sat down were so good that we asked for more. The egg flower soup I had was outstanding and I am sad that I am not eating it right now. The chicken with soft noodles was so plentiful and tasty that I took it home and ate the rest for dinner. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!

It’s okay! Portions are big enough to share which would be nice for a family.

I went to Szechuwan Garden for lunch today and today must’ve been my lucky day! I ordered the Pepper & Salt Pork Chop lunch special and it was so much food for the price. The lunch special came with the pork chops, fried rice, egg roll, and egg drop soup. I bought another bag of crispy chips and sauce and everything came to to just under $13. The lunch special came with so much pork chop that it’s going to extend into another meal. Also, the food was yummy!

First and Last: I been trying since feb last year to order food from my local restaurant, for the first time I order today and it was not horrible but it was not good either. I order 913. honey chicken the crust it was so thick and the chicken almost nonexistent, 1202 ship or combination Lo me in, it was so soggy and overcook the noodle, the mix tempura it was edible, G05 cucumber salad they top it with imitation crab meat, and they ruined it, G06 seaweed salad was edible and Thai Iced Tea that has so many ice that was tasteless. I cannoned eat 2 things of my $43.80 so disappointed.

I really struggled with whether or not to give this restaurant a five or four star. I think a 4 and a half would be perfect and I’ll explain why. The atmosphere and decor was very nice. I really liked the lighting overall and the bamboo area. The food is very good and they give the biggest portions I’ve ever seen at an Asian restaurant with reasonable prices. Another added feature is that they serve Chinese and Japanese food so it was nice to be able to order sushi with our meals. When ordering a dinner meal they give you a big bowl of soup, not a cup like you usually get with most dinner combos at other restaurants of this type. The cream cheese crab rangoon was at least 3 times the size as any I’ve ever seen. The actual portions of the main course were huge, as well. We were there for 2 of our birthdays and they were nice enough to bring out 2 ice creams with candles and sing happy birthday. Another thing, the ice tea was especially good! Here is the problem. The waiter we had seem to get frustrated with us, when trying to take our order. I think because he didn’t understand (possible language barrier) and he would just walk away, without warning, and start waiting on other tables and do other things. He even seemed a little mad even when we were talking to him so nicely. He did this a couple times so it took a very long time to get our main order taken. We had previously ordered some appetizers and drinks and did receive those with some confusion. We finally flagged down another lady that worked there to help us and she brought another waiter and they served us well. But the first waiter also messed up our tickets so much that they had a hard time figuring it out and never got it right, so we just had to figure it out ourselves. With all this, there was plenty of positive that we would still be back.

Great ambience, plates dished out were well balanced not salty, not tangy, not spicy, not sweet and not Sourish. Pricing absolutely affordable, the egg flower soup and spring rolls were great. The stewards are bit slow in paying attention if not this place is a gem.

The food here looks like it’s just being put out for the sake of putting food out. The chow fun and egg fu young looked exactly the same, and tasted the same. The only good part was the green beans w garlic, those were also under-seasoned and the garlic was bland, if you can believe that.

So sorry, I usually don’t leave reviews or bad ratings bcuz I appreciate the service and food industry. Nonetheless less, I’m sick and was looking for a place that provided soup as side order as well as tasty options and this place looks good on postmates so we ordered pick up. My BF said his impression of this place was when he walked up, he saw the lady at the counter squat and slap something on the counter ( eeew) and then gestured him in. Despite that, he still paid for the food and came home. The soup was very syrupy and not tasteful, I ordered the combination chow mein, I was overwhelmed with disappointment. Despite the bad first impression of bugs, I tried to push though and eat it and it lacked any flavor. My BF ordered the spicy honey chicken and was immediately disgusted, it lacked flavor and did not taste like chicken. I hate wasting food and neither of us could eat the food we had just ordered and ended with chic fil A. A waste of our money and time. We will not be ordering again and hope they improve for the better.
